"HOLY SHIT." Luna cursed as she parked her car outside of the Starcourt Mall. The place was packed, and the only parking space she could get was one very, very far away from the door. she opened up her car door and stood in awe at the amount of people coming and going out of the mall doors, and cars that came in and out of the parking lot.
Dont get her wrong, she knew what a mall looked like. Back in Maine there were plenty of malls that she shopped at once or twice. she wasn't a stranger to big crowds or anything—however seeing this in Hawkins was strange considering nothing like a gigantic mall was here when she left the small town.
She sighed, stepping out of her car, then opened the back so she could get her backpack. She locked her car and started heading towards the entrance of the tall building. she felt weird walking through the crowds of kids eating ice cream and teens and young adults carrying shopping bags.
She thought she'd be used to the large crowds, and she had, but this was Hawkins. The only large amounts of people she seen here was when people crowded outside of the small theatre in town to watch the same couple of movies over and over.
This was different, and she wasn't sure what to think of it yet.
She made her way through the doors, taking in the large opening with the water fountain in the middle. There were escalators leading to the second floor of the building and she was sure she might not be able to find Robin in this crowd.
Luna made her way through the crowds of people, looking at every sign above the stores. there were many stores.
She remembered one time when Robin called her one weekend and told her about an ice cream shop she was applying to for a summer job, and she remembered the place her parents told her about last night.
Scoops Ahoy.
"Scoops Ahoy..." she kept repeating in a hushed whisper, looking over every store sign. She finally spotted the glowing sign and smiled in victory as she made her way over to the place.
She immediately took notice of a guy standing with his back towards her. He looked like he was talking to someone behind being the sliding doors but she couldn't quite figure out who it was.
As she made her way closer, for some reason the back of the guys head looked oddly familiar, but she couldn't pin point who it was exactly. she noticed the bell on the counter and bangs her hand against it making a loud dinging noise.
"Ahoy there—!" The guy turned around quickly, cutting himself off as he stared in disbelief. "Holy shit Luna."
Steve Harrington.
His face was completely blank as he made eye contact with her. He never expected to see her again—not after she left three years ago. Not after she left him three years ago.
Okay...so she didn't particularly leave him because they were never together. However after she left, he felt extra alone. It wasn't her fault though—he actually felt very proud of her for following her dreams.
Luna was older then Steve by a year, and she was also smarter then him in school in almost every subject except physical education. Which resulted in Luna being forced by the principle to tutor Steve after he failed almost everything and was on the verge of having to quit the basketball team.
Not only did Luna tutor him during the school year, she also helped him catch up with things over the summer to help him for next year. He didn't realize it then but she was helping him prepare for when she left.
She graduated a year early, and she left a year early for University.
He was different now and she was really different now.
He was nineteen, and she was twenty now. She didn't have braces, her hair was longer then it was and she may have grown a couple of inches. She was still as beautiful as ever though. He looked down at her sweatshirt and seen the front designs, The University Of Maine.
He smiled softly at that. that was her dream school, he had listened to her talk about all the time and she actually gotten the chance to go.
She wanted to laugh at his shocked and dazed expression. Neither have said anything yet but smiled were on their faces as they stared at each other. She was shocked too, but not as shocked as him.
She looked him up and down with his eyes and took in his outfit. A large grin made its way onto her lips at how adorable he looked in it "Hey Sailor!"
He quickly looked down at his outfit and his face grew red in embarrassment at how ridiculous he looked in front of her right now. this was the first time she seen him in a few years and all he was wearing was this stupid sailor outfit.
She didn't seem to care about how he looked though, she only looked happy.
Rummaging from the back room caught there attention and suddenly the sliding doors swung open once more revealing Robins head.
A smile grew on the dirty blondes face as she seen her cousin standing outside.
"Luna!"
