"Ever looked back at your ex and asked yourself was I drunk the entire relationship?"
-Lawrence
To say dinner was a disaster is a understatement. For the rest of the evening Elizabeth flirted and chatted with Lawrence nonstop while I talked with Mrs.Conway and watched them two. Not once did she even acknowledge me or even talk to me. It was as if I was invisible or something.
The night got even worser when Mrs.Conway said to me "Those two would make such a lovely pair don't ya think?"
That was the moment when I knew it was time to leave. I'd excused myself and went upstairs to call Julie. The phone ringed for sometime before it went straight to voicemail. I sighed heavily and wondered what in the hell she was up to!
I hung up without leaving a message though as I didn't want to bother Julie more then I already do. I seem to always run to here whenever I'm in trouble. I don't know when but tears formed in my eyes and I couldn't help but cover my entire face.
A chuckle left my mouth as I had no clue why I was even crying in the first place. My feelings were just a mess right now. Wiping away the tears I sniffed a bit before exhaling and calming down. Now is not the time to be crying.
I turned around to head downstairs but ended up running right into a hard chest. Groaning I sighed as I knew who it already was. "What do you want?"
"My mom asked me to come check up on you...were you crying?"
My face heated up in embarrassment. "N-no. I'm f-fine. Let's just head back downstairs." I tried to walk past him but his arm shot out and grabbed ahold of me.
"No. We need to talk."
"Lawrence we can-"
"I wasn't asking, sweetheart" he said while grinning.
"I don't care. I don't want to talk to you."
"You always want to talk to me. Why's today different?"
I didn't want to but I couldn't help but blush. "S-shut up! Just leave me alone!"
"Sure but after we talk."
Rolling my eyes I sighed in annoyance. "Fine! About what?!"
"At the camp. Why'd you-"
"I don't know okay?," I said interrupting him. "I just...was scared I guess. You and I did..."
He smiled. "I don't regret it y'know? I actually had the best time of my night with you." He brought me closer to him and asked lowly "Do you regret last night?"
Even though I avoided him and tried to not think about last night the truth was I didn't regret last night. I don't think I'd have wanted it to be with someone else. Wrapping my arms around his neck I whispered back "I don't regret last night..."
A smile of relief and joy flooded his face and he quickly leaned down and pressed his lips onto mine. It was a soft and light one as he'd removed his lips from mine and pressed them to my temple. "Alice I have to tell you something."
I looked up at him to see his face was back to one of worry. "Tell me what?"
He opened his mouth to say something but a familiar voice interrupted us. "What are you two doing?"
We both looked behind us to see Elizabeth standing there with a sickeningly sweet smile on her goddess like face. Lawrence seemed to tense up and in a harsh tone asked "What do you want, Beth?"
"Your moms serving dessert and asked me to come get you two. Sorry if I interrupted anything."
Sure you are..." He muttered lowly.
