"I don't think much about guys from the past. I'm glad I knew them, but there's a reason they didn't make it into my future."

-Alice Johnson

I sat on the ground and watched as Diana, Lawrence, Matthew, and Julie played around together in the lake. Mat was splashing Julie while Lawrence made sure to torture Diana who was chasing after him like a mad women. It seems like they were having the time of their life's.

I on the other hand decided to just sit back and enjoy the sun with Walt. He sat by my side and we were talking idly about everything going on in our life's. "So why don't you want to go out with, Diana? You use to have a major crush on her in middle school" I said to him.

He sighed. "After being away for so long and thinking about my old lifestyle I've decided I've wanted more then just a girlfriend. I want someone who I can love forever and always. Diana's nothing but a mean girl who sleeps with different rows of boys each week. I don't think I could ever go out with someone like her."

"Maybe you could end up loving her. You never know."

"Love is not a maybe thing, you know when you love someone."

At his words I fell silent for a minute but then asked "What kind of girl do you want to be with?"

He smiled and looked at me. "Someone like you."

I blushed at his words and playfully shoved him. "I'm not all that! There are a ton of girls in the world who are much prettier then me."

"Alice Johnson, you are one of a kind."

I couldn't help but smile at his words before I shook my head. He always did know how to get me to smile easily no matter what situation. I playfully slapped him on the shoulder and said "Don't say embarrassing stuff like that!"

He chuckled. "I'm glad I said it. It seems I got a smile to light up on your beautiful face."

I opened my mouth to say something but before I could someone called my name. Looking up I saw Josiah coming my way with rage clear on his face. Oh, god!

Getting up from off the ground I dusted myself off then met him halfway. "Can I help you, bro?"

He crossed his hands over his chest and asked "Can you explain to me why you are out here and not inside doing your work?"

"Julie just invited me out for a little-" he cut me off before I could even finish.

"Maybe you should stop hanging out with Julie for a while."

I stared at him in disbelief that he'd even suggested that. "You can't be serious! Julie is-"

"I don't want to hear it, Al. I've been letting you getaway with a lot of stuff recently but that all stops now. Now go and do your work."

I decided to do as he said since he obviously wasn't playing around. I heard Julie call my name but I never once looked back. It hurt like hell to ignore her but Josiah was right. I really did need to start doing better in my classes and all of them were going to be nothing but distractions.

Getting to my room I entered it and jumped on my bed with a heavy sigh. Time to get to work. Yay! Rolling my eyes I grabbed my bag and dug out my school work. I decided to start with the hardest work which was math. The only reason I'm failing the class is because of the test. I do all of the homework but those test are what kill me badly.

Sighing I overlooked the four page worksheet and saw I knew some of the answers. The first page was easy and so was the second one but as I got to the other pages I got annoyed and irritated. Groaning I threw the paper up in the air and yelled "When am I ever going to use this stuff in the real world?!"
