"PAPI", Neteyam screamed from his room. "Can you sign this permission slip please". The track coach at their highschool has his own AAU team. So why not join. It'll be just like back home, maybe.
"Ya me too", Lo'ak said running down the stairs, followed by neteyam. He was planning on signing up for the football time. Tryouts were happening because it's getting closer to the end of the year.
Back home, Lo'ak was best on his JV team back home. He was at a Varsity level but he couldn't be on Varsity just yet because of his grade level.
Once they found Jake sitting in the dinner table already dressed for work and Neytiri who was doing a half up half down hairstyle on Tuk. "And what are they for", he asked raising an eyebrow.
"AAU", Neteyam said.
"School Football", Lo'ak said.
Jake had a surprised smile on his face. Happy that the boys were finding something good out of the move.
"I heard the track coach was a hot head and mean as hell", Kiri said in a worried tone moving to the table with her bowl of cereal. Neteyam rolled his eyes.
"And your brother do well on hard training", Neytiri said looking at her eldest son with a smile. Neteyam smiled back, dismissing himself from the conversation already knowing that his dad will allow him to continue racing.
"So if Neteyam can do his lil runnin", Lo'ak said showing his dad the permission sheet. "I can do football right".
Jake looked at him and nodded, just happy to see if youngest boy happy. Mainly because he was the second maddest about moving, after Kiri.
It was finally after school and Neteyam was ready. The Coach, Troi, said that he wanted to see him in action. The Coach was a short man, pretty man with long eyelashes, he was brown skin and always wore hates. He had weaves and a nose piercing that complimented his skin tone.
Luckily he brought his spikes. They were the Nike Zoom Rival colored blue. He begged and begged for the spikes and surprisingly to his siblings their parents said no. Obviously after a while, he got them.
"Ok, I want to see you run a 300 at the 400 meter start, then end at the 100. Lastly do a 100", the coach spat out.
"Give me about 3 reps of that. Understand?" Coach Troi asked. Neteyam responded with a nod. He got into lane 4 and waited for the coach to blow the whistle.
Then the whistle was blown. Neteyam was out. The first 100 meters he was doing good, came out fast.
"Good job", Coach Troi yelled. It was the last 200 meters he had to worry about. Once he got to the 200 meter, he stayed strong.
But a group of football players came out, walking on the track. At full speed, Neteyam knocked into them.
"Ayo Umami", Coach yelled out. "Tell ya big ass football players to watch out next time".
"My bad", Neteyam said getting back up and fixing his long braids.
"Nahh it was my fault", the football player said getting up. Looking at Neteyam who finally realized who he was had his eyes wide. It was Ao'nung.
"Oh hey", Neteyam said smiling a little. To Ao'nung, the bigger his smile gotten the brighter his yellow eyes gotten.
The track and football coach were currently arguing so they had time for a little conversation.
"I ain't know you did football", Neteyam stated."Yuh, team captain actually", Ao'nung said with a growing smirk. Neteyam could see the other group of boys behind him looking down at him. They were like his little minion's that help him with about anything.
"Maybe I'll come to the games or whateva", Neteyam continued. To Ao'nung's friends behind him, it was pretty obvious they was into each other .
"Love to see you come out", Ao'nung said looking Neteyam up and down . How does he look soo good in a state championship tee and black shorts? Which was all he could think of.
Honestly, Neteyam looked good every time he saw him.
"Ok Neteyam, let's just do this 100", Coach Troi called out. And so he did. Ao'nung watched as he walked back. Damn he was fine, he thought but never sworn to say out loud.
The group of captions continued walking. "So.. you and Neteyam", one of them said. That was Fyiro. Ao'nung looked back at him and poked out his lip and squinted his eyes . "No". Then they heard a whistle from Coach Troi.
Neteyam was doing his 100 meter and damn he was fast.
"Ok rookies and our returnings", Coach Umami yelled. He is one out of the seven football coaches. "Welcome to conditioning. Here we do the shit so later we can talk it. Never bullshit my workout. AM I UNDERSTOOD?"
And just like the military, in unison they said "yes sir". Currently it was only the wide receivers and quarterbacks were out on the field. But, that's all neteyam knows. Lo'ak being a wide receiver, Neteyam had no choice to wait for his mother to pick them but while Kiri got picked up by Tuk and their father. So he sat in the benchers and waited patiently for his brother. Texting Kiri and watching different videos. A few times he would look up to see Lo'ak, who was definitely doing good.
"So you're not going to at least try talking to him", Lo'ak hears one of Ao'nung's minion say.
"What do you mean, we do talk", He replies. Who the fuck was they walking about, was the only thing that on Lo'aks mind.
The minion just rolled his eyes and looked back at Lo'ak. "You think that fine ass brother of yours would like talk to somebody", he questioned. Of course he would ask Lo'ak.
"Ion know. Back home he had plenty hoes, prolly still talks to them", Lo'ak said. They all looked defeated.
"Welp, ya bitch got hoes man", another minion added. It's sounded funny because of his accent.
'His bitch?', Lo'ak thought. One thing for sure Neteyam is no one's bitch. And if there little brains thought Neteyam would allow himself be anyone's bitch, they crazy as hell.
But, Lo'ak just shocked it off.
"Neteyam we done", Finally after what felt like what forever to Neteyam, Lo'aks conditioning was over. He got straight up and started walking beside Lo'ak.
"Hi Neteyam", the two Sully's turnt around to see who it was. It was Ao'nung. "Let me talk to you real quick".
Of course he does. Lo'ak rolled his eyes, maybe his friends put him up to this. Ao'nung walked them all the way to the gate talking to Neteyam, but Lo'ak could care less so he toned them down.
Happily Lo'ak hopped into their car.
"Hey mama", Lo'ak greeted. But Neteyam was still talking to Ao'nung.
Great lord...
