"Okay, we go in, beat Mr. P up, then skedaddle, 'kay?" Vulpine instructs, a hand on their hip with their hammer over one shoulder.

It had taken the four of them about 4 and a half hours to reach the outpost. Vulpine still kept up, even with their injury, which had been rebandaged with actual bandages and sewn, thanks to Mimi.

"But how do we act this plan out?" Pace winced, his shoulders bunched up. Zariah's eyes were wide with uncertainty while Dixon looked on the teetering edge of determination and I-am-going-to-give-up.

"Hmm, that's a good point," they admitted, scratching the side of the face. It felt itchy, which was weird. "Mimi said that this outpost had a laboratory, Mr. P would most likely be there, so we try and get over there."

"But what if there are infected? There are probably going to be a ton here," Zariah pointed out.

"Easy," Vulpine said. "Stab 'em." They pointed at Zariah. "Slash 'em." They pointed at Pace. "Wack 'em." They pointed at Dixon. "Aand slam 'em," they finished, pointing at themself.

"That isn't a plan though," Pace pointed out.

"We're doomed," Dixon groaned, rubbing his face.

"You all are so pessimistic," Vulpine commented.

"Says you," Dixon rebutted, crossing his arms.

"Our best bet is to sneak to the lab," Zariah guessed, smacking the bottom of her fist into her palm.

"And how likely is our success rate, by that means?" Pace asked.

"We are in a place where the possibilities are endless, my horsey-acquaintance," Vulpine said cheerfully, patting his shoulder, which made him flinch for a second. "We don't know what could happen. For all we know he might not even be here or one of us dies on the way in, during, or out of here."

"That isn't helping," Zariah deadpanned, scooching a very concerned and frozen Pace away from them.

"I think sneaking in is the best option," Dixon piped up. "We probably need someone to take a peek over the blockage and observe what's going on."

Everyone nodded, with Vulpine deep in thought. Then they all turned to look at Dixon expectantly. Dixon's face screwed up, confused, before understanding what was going on. "Fuckin'...," he grumbled, turning to scramble up the truck tilted over in the entrance to the outpost. "Mmm, alrighty, no major signs of activity, but I can hear scuffling around," he reported.

Pace looked from Dixon to Zariah and Vulpine, looking skeptical. "I am starting to regret agreeing to come along," he winced, pushing his glasses up.

"I would have dragged you along anyways, so you didn't have much of a choice to begin with," Zariah replied playfully, gently punching his shoulder.

He let out a little snort and shook his head. "You're lucky I love you a ton or else I'd have put up a fight." Zariah snorted a laugh,  her face scrunching up. Vulpine rolled their eyes, giving their head a little shake with a tiny snort.

"AYE- UHM, infected crawling out of holes in the ground?" Dixon yelped, dragging them back to reality.

"What?!" Zariah cried while Pace groaned.

Vulpine scurried up next to Dixon to see for themself. Sure enough, every few seconds an infected soldier crawled up from a hole in the ground.

"Well this could be a problem," they noted, sitting down.

"We could get overwhelmed by them! What do we do!?- We haven't even gotten into the outpost yet and we've hit a roadblock!" Pace cried,  grasping the back of his neck.
