Smack! Janet fell to the floor. "What the hell is your problem? Why can't you just listen?" Janet tried to get up but was smacked down again. "You get on my last nerves."
"Please." Janet held her stomach. "The baby."
"Shut the hell up. You think that's going to stop you from getting corrected?" He picked her up by her neck and pushed her against the wall. The alcohol on his breath was strong.
"Wissam, please stop." He smacked her. "Please." He squeezed her neck. "Pleee..." Janet scratched at his hands as he squeezed harder. "Wis....."

Janet
I jumped awake at the sound of cries. Once I caught my breath, I looked for the baby monitor. Looking through the little video screen, I saw Eissa crying. I rubbed my head and eased out from under the covers. My legs dangled over the bed as I tried to regain the feeling in them. Once I did, I put my robe and slippers on before heading out of the room.Entering the nursery, Eissa was screaming. I tied my robe tight and picked him up. "Shhh. Shhh. Mommy's here." I held him close and his cries slowly began to die down. He fussed a little while looking up at me. "I know. I know." I sat down with him in the recliner and put the leg rest up while I rocked him. "It's okay. I got you. Always." I kissed his head. Slowly, he fell back asleep. I laid my head back and felt myself slowly drift off too.
"Janet!" I jumped awake making sure not to drop Eissa. "What the hell?!" Wissam stood over me visibly upset.
"Wissam. What's wrong?"
"What's wrong? You fell asleep while holding my son." I rubbed my eyes.
"I was putting him back to sleep and I must've dozed off. I'm sorry."
"Yeah. Get yourself together. You wanted to do this damn music thing again, so get to it." He left. I sighed and stood up. Trying to get my mind together, I found Eissa some clothes.
He was almost two months old and I loved him with everything in me. He was the only light in my world. Well him and my music. My music was one of the main things that kept me going everyday. I'm so happy I can at least do that again.
I finished cleaning and lotioning Eissa up before putting his clothes on. "Awww, Mama's baby is so clean. Look at the handsome man." I picked him up and held him to my chest. I carried him and his bag seat into my room to the bathroom. I placed the seat on the counter and strapped him into it.
Getting in the shower, I kept an eye on him. I try to take my showers as quickly as possible so he isn't alone for too long. I cleaned every part thoroughly and got out. I dried off and put on my robe. I carried him in his chair to the room and set it on the bed. He was just looking around. I put on my lotion and picked out some comfortable clothes before putting on my sneakers.
When I was finished, I took Eissa back into the nursery and packed him some things. I had to make sure he had plenty of milk and diapers. He would be with Joey during my practice so I needed to be prepared. I was pulled out of my actions by my phone ringing. I looked to see who it was. "Hi, Joey."
"Hey, Jan. I'm here."
"Okay, I'm almost ready."
"Cool." I hung up then picked up Eissa in his car seat and his bag. Going back to the room, I grabbed my purse and everything before heading downstairs. Wissam was on the couch, watching tv.
"I'll be back later."
"Whatever." I walked to the door, but stopped and turned around.
"Love you."
