After a few weeks of teaching Atsushi and Akutagawa basic English, some slightly higher math, a little science, and the tiniest bit of history(math ended up taking the longest as neither of them could grasp why you would need to know any of it), they were relatively prepared for a high school entrance exam. On more than one occasion, Tanizaki had to get Kunikida to help him teach the mafia members math. At least Tanizaki knew that their quirks could carry them through the practical test. The three became pretty close after spending weeks studying together, and could now be considered friends. When the day of departure came, they were all handed fake licenses, Kunikida and Tanizaki's including their status as 'pro heroes'. Their licenses said that they were from a small city on the outskirts of Japan, just as Mori had said. On the car ride out of the city, Kunikida drove and the other three were in the backseat. Atsushi and Tanizaki had the window seats with Akutagawa in the middle, though he was leaning on Atsushi's shoulder, asleep. Tanizaki and Atsushi talked quietly so they didn't wake Akutagawa, eventually, they also fell asleep, Tanizaki leaning his head against the window, and Atsushi laying his on top of Akutagawa's. Once they left Yokohama and arrived at their apartment, Kunikida took off his seatbelt and turned towards the backseat, nudging Akutagawa awake.
"What is it?" Akutagawa snapped, clearly not liking being woken up.
"Help me get them in the apartment, I didn't want to wake them." Kunikida said, his voice soft and aloof.
Akutagawa looked at the two on either side of him and grumbled something along the lines of "why did you wake me up then?", but he still quietly called out "Rashomon!"
Akutagawa's coat expanded and a seemingly living being became of it, Akutagawa motioned to it, and it picked up Atsushi and Tanizaki effortlessly. Akutagawa and Kunikida walked to their room, Rashomon while carrying the other two, trailed slightly behind. Kunikida unlocked the door to his and Tanizaki’s room, then handed another key to Akutagawa. Rashomon silently slithered into Kunikida and Tanizaki’s room and placed Tanizaki on the bed, then left. Akutagawa opened the door to his and Atsushi’s room, walked in with Rashomon, and promptly closed the door. Kunikida also stepped into his apartment, closed the door and went to bed.
Atsushi awoke in an unfamiliar room with someone sleeping next to him, he looked over to see Akutagawa snuggled up next to him. Atsushi gently covered the taller boy with the blanket. Atsushi layed back down and a look of realization hit his face. They had nothing to do or eat in this apartment and he didn’t know where Kunikida’s apartment was. Atsushi just sighed, looked at Akutagawa and tapped him on the shoulder. Akutagawa shot up from where he was laying and glared at Atsushi.
“Why did you wake me up, Weretiger?” Akutagawa asked, condescendingly.
Atsushi simply replied “We don’t have food and I don’t know where Kunikida’s apartment is.”
Akutagawa sighed, got up and went towards the door, then suddenly turned and motioned for the shorter boy to follow him. At that, Atsushi also got up and followed Akutagawa outside to the car they drove in.
Akutagawa started to explain “We didn’t get the luggage out last night because Rashomon had to carry you and Tanizaki to your rooms.” Akutagawa looked towards Atsushi, expectantly.
“Uh… thanks?” The weretiger said, unsure of what the other wanted.
Akutagawa huffed, then turned his back to Atsushi, grabbed his own suitcases, and began walking towards their apartment. Atsushi quickly followed suit, not wanting to get too far away from his partner.
Akutagawa and Atsushi began to unpack their things into their apartment. The apartment was plain to those two, it had gray walls with white baseboards, a gray couch on an off-white rug in the middle of the room, a small table towards the kitchen, and a tv on top of a dresser across from the couch. It was obvious to these two that this apartment was made for one person, not two. They knew this, not just because of the reasons above, but also that there was only one bedroom.
They looked at each other in disappointment, knowing it was Dazai’s doing. “I’ll take the couch.” Atsushi said, pointing at it.
Akutagawa only glared at him, then said “We can share the bed. I do not mind, weretiger.”
Atsushi was taken aback, but simply nodded. He wished not to further the issue lest Akutagawa take the offer back. There was a sudden knock at the door, Atsushi was startled by the sudden noise, and Akutagawa jumped slightly before opening the door to a rather annoyed "pro hero".
"You're late for the meeting we were supposed to have." He said, face showing clear annoyance.
Akutagawa grumbled something under his breath, but followed the idealist anyways with Atsushi walking not far behind. Turns out Kunikida and Tanizaki's room had two bedrooms, only furthering the mafioso's hypothesis, and was also right nextdoor to them. They had a simple strategy meeting, the UA entrance exams were tomorrow and Kunikida and Tanizaki's interview was today. Akutagawa didn't want to stay any longer than  necessary, but Atsushi kept asking Tanizaki questions about what the written portion of the entrance exam would be like, which Tanizaki couldn't even answer because he had gone to a regular highschool, not some prestigious fancy house like UA was. They quickly ended the meeting there, opting to go to the store to buy food and then eat breakfast.

a/n - The next few chapters are probably going to be short because I don’t wanna go in depth about these events because they're not all that interesting. Also we're working in real time now cause I dont have anymore prewritten stuff so the updates might be slower, but I also am doing a bunch of nothing in school tomorrow so I'll probably work on it! :D
Also, if you guys have any ideas for the cover, please share them, I'm struggling :'(
