Chapter II: Eorzea

Velvet's POV:

Koda and I followed Vex and Mimi to an Inn. Once we got ourselves comfortable, We asked them about this place and this land itself. Vex began to explain about what was called "The Seventh Umbral Calamity." His information was very vague. He said he and Mimi only know because of a gaint crashed airship in a place called "Mor Dohna" that just so happens to be resting in a lake that is now under jurisdiction of a legion from this "Garlean Empire." Mimi and Vex said this legion in particular was sent to conquer Eorzea before the calamity. 

They both also told us something else they recalled but don't know much about it. Eventually, the Seventh Umbral Era occurred when the bulk of the Eorzean Alliance engaged the Empire in a final battle to expel them from Mor Dhona and secure suitable grounds for the summoning ritual to stop Dalamud's (The moon) descent. Despite the Alliance having the advantage, they failed. And Dalamud broke apart upon entering the atmosphere with a ferocious, unstoppable dragon called Bahamut that resting inside it. Apon breaking apart, Bahamut was free and the area called "The Fields of Cartenou" was altered in the Calamity that followed. In the aftermath, several large fragments of Dalamud have remained scattered across the realm.

Their was so much information that Koda and I were just trying to processes all of it. This world has seen it's fair share of hardships already.

Vex: But, that's pretty much what I know about the situation.

Mimi: It wasn't easy for the both of us. Our people were being treated as slaves to the Empire.

Vex moved his eyes down and clenched his fist. We could tell this was something that was not an easy to talk about. But knowing Koda as I do, I understand.

Koda: This... empire doesn't seem like they want the best interest for the people of this land.

Velvet: It sounds a lot like suppression to me. It's disgusting.

Koda: And a dragon with the power on that scale... That's something...

To Vex and Mimi's surprise we took it very well. They were very confused, almost like we have heard of stories like this before.

Vex: You two... are taking this info... like you both have been through this yourselves.

Koda: You could say we went through something similar in that case.

Vex: ...?

Mimi: What do you mean?

Velvet: It's... complicated. 

Koda: Yeah... It's not easy for both us to just... talk about it right now.

Vex: (hmmm) It's cool man. You guys tell us when you feel like you're ready too.

Koda/Velvet: ...?

Vex: Anyway, How about you two stick with us for the time being?

Koda: Huh?

Velvet: What?

Vex: Well you guys are still new here right? And Mimi and I could use extra help with a contract we got coming up.

Koda: Why ask us? We're strangers to you two.

Vex: Your right. But, you guys can handle yourselves pretty well in a fight. And you seem pretty cool to hang around with. Well whaddya say?
