Velvet's POV:
We managed to escape the crazy battle with monsters and headed back to Ul'dah. We we're still pretty shocked and abit tired from what we witnessed.
Velvet: *Heavy breathing*
Koda: (takes a set) ....Well that was... something...
Vex: (Lays down from the excitement) ...Something? ...I think that was too close for comfort....
Mimi: ... I thought we wouldn't make it... But we did.
Alphinaud: Twelve have mercy on us! What chance have we against such a creation?!
Koda: It seemed like it was bio-mechanical by the way it moved. Vex, Does the Empire have anything else like that, do you know?
Vex: No. ...I haven't seen anything like "that" they've made before. Unless they been engineering some new Magitek weapons.
Mimi: But I didn't sense any aether manipulation with that thing.
Koda: So it's just another machine maybe.
Velvet: What I wanna know is who the guy with the mask was.
Cid: That was Gaius van Baelsar, Legatus of the XIVth Imperial Legion, and he's the supreme commander of the Garlean Invasion force of Eorzea.
Koda: What?! He leads the invasion force!?
Vex: I can't believe it... A few months ago from one of my mercenary jobs. I heard there was one Imperial commander that governed a region of Eorzea, but also lead the invasion for Mor Dhona some years back. Gaius van Baelsar... "The Black Wolf."
Velvet: He's no ordinary Garlean we have to worry about. I think our paths will cross again.
Mimi: I heard the rumors myself... But to see The Black Wolf himself...
Koda: He definitely seemed formidable. And with that gunblade on his back, I wonder how fierce he can be.
Alphinaud: Of course... how could I not realize? Grandfather mentioned him in his journal!
Velvet: He did mention that weapon was Allag technology. What did he mean?
Vex: Allag!? Where have I heard that before?
Cid: It's shorten for the Allagan Empire. They were a civilization that thrived within the borders, producing marvels of which this world has and probably won't ever see again. It's said that the technology was so advanced, the magitek weapons and devices Garlamald created pale in comparison.
Koda: So they were very advanced even for their time.
Mimi: That's the first I've heard of it.
Cid: I was never so naive as to thin Gaius would abandon his ambitions, but these developments are beyond my worst expectations. What has he been doing these past five years? How could something of this magnitude have escaped the Alliance's attention?
Alphinaud: We heard whispers, saw no signs. In the wake of the Calamity, the Empire seized the land and built outposts, but that was the extent of their aggression.
