"I'm a shitty friend?! Yeah, sure." Draco's head felt like it was about to explode, ears ringing like he'd eaten a whole packet of pepper imps. "That's rich coming from a friend who just lied to my face. You're in on it aren't you? Who's behind this "prank"?"

Pansy's face twisted with newly found rage, and he couldn't help but doubt himself for a second. Had he perhaps been wrong? Was it a Gryffindor that had hexed him?

"No-one has put any kind of spell on you!" she yelled, making his shoulders tense of their own accord. "I've even asked around because you've been acting so weird lately!"

"What do you mean wei-"

"What do I mean? Well for starters, you've been ignoring us for weeks. Sure, you're sitting right next to us, but do you actually listen to anything we say? Do we bore you terribly, o' great heir to the House of Malfoy?" everyone in the Slytherin common room had turned to look at them, some with their mouths agape. It felt as if someone had suddenly pushed all the air out of his lungs.

Pansy seemed to notice this as well, and turned away from him to instead face the rest of the green-clad room and its inhabitants.

"Go find something better to look at you dickheads!" She bellowed, and Draco couldn't agree more, despite currently being her opposition.

The room gave mixed results, most continuing to stare shamelessly. Either way, she turned back around to glare at him.

"We're supposed to be your friends, yet you build walls between us any chance you get!" Pansy's eyes had tears pooling in them, which really made him want to disappear."We've been worried to death about you, yet you pretend everything is perfectly fine!"

"I just-" her voice was breaking now, god he despised himself. "I just wish you could trust us."

"Pansy, I swear that I-"

"Don't lie to me Draco Malfoy! I'm so sick and tired of you lying to me, it's like I barely even know you!" her face was shrivelled by sobs, tone squeaky yet enraged. "You have no idea how much we care about you, how much I care about you! These past three years I've done so much just to stay your friend!"

He stayed silent, not wishing to be interrupted a third time, or was it the fourth?

"I don't like being mean to people! But I've always feared that you'd just get rid of me if I stopped doing the same things you do!"

"You make me into a bad person, Draco."

Draco had almost been able to calm down for a moment, well, that was no longer the case. His hands shook with freshly-pumped adrenaline, and he had the slightest urge to lunge at her.

"Finally done talking now?" he spat, voice trembling with fury. He had to keep his composure as to not smash anyone's skull into the wall. "Well, either way, it's about time you let me speak. To start, how about not blaming your own shortcomings on me? I know you love painting yourself as the victim, but when have I ever made you do anything?"

Pansy's eyes widened, and she opened her mouth to reply. Deciding it was his turn to monologue, he kept going.

"I mean I'm far from perfect, but I've never forced you to mock Granger for instance. But, sure. Paint me as the bad guy, I can take it."
