•Harry•

"-rry."

"Harry!"

His consciousness resurfaced, exiting darkness as suddenly as he'd entered it.

"Wha-what happened?" He asked the blurry figures standing over him.

"Professor Lupin! He's awake!"

He remembered fragments. The train stopped, it got cold and dark. Then Ginny and Neville came in, or was that after Lupin woke up? There was a hooded figure, with disgusting, grey hands. Those of a rotting corpse. It took a breath.

And the train was full of his mother's screaming.

Just remembering it sent shivers down his spine.

"You fainted Harry, after that weird hooded thing came in." Ron told him, looking anxious. "Lupin says it was a demenentor."

"Dementor." Hermione corrected him. "They're creatures that suck the happiness out of people."

"I-I heard," His voice was hoarse, and talking was uncomfortable. "I heard my mother, screaming. Did you hear it too?"

The people in the compartment looked at him incredulously, well all except Professor Lupin.

"Well there certainly was screaming. Not sure who's, but definitely not your mothers." Hermione looked at him, concerned.

"Oh, okay." Well, now he seemed crazy. Nothing new.

Lupin reached out his hand, offering him a small square.

"Here, have some chocolate." He said, eyes warm, despite the heavy circles beneath them. "Believe it or not, it will help tremendously."

He took it, thanking the professor. He bit off small pieces of it, starting at the corners. Warmth started to spread within his body, as if he'd stepped into a warm shower.

The train had arrived once the others were done talking. They had explained what happened in more detail, including that he had missed while unconscious.

"So I was the only one who passed out?" He asked, feeling ashamed. As he stepped onto the platform, he noticed that all the other passengers looked weary as well, but not nearly as much as him. He felt like all of him, especially his hair, was sticking out in weird angles.

"Out of us six yeah, but there's bound to be someone else who did." Ron said, trying to be reassuring.

The trio got into one of the self-driven carriages, in silence.

•Draco•

Draco felt as if he'd been hit by a bus, his limbs aching, and his head cloudy. The cold still sat in his stomach, but passively. Most importantly, he could breathe again.

Well, when Pansy saw him again he definitely couldn't, as she had wrapped her strong arms around him. She would not stop worrying, even as they got off the train, and into a carriage.

"Pansy, I'm perfectly fine." He said, massaging his temples. He had acquired a headache from the ordeal. "I wanted to get away from the dementor before it affected me." He lied, trying to sound smart and not like a coward.

Nothing more than a coward, that's what he was.

Her eyebrows were still furrowed, but she let it go. They got in the carriage, silently.

"Hey, did you hear that Potter fainted?" Pansy said, breaking the silence as soon as she sat down. "And some kid started screaming. Imagine having such a weakness for dementors!" She laughed.
