one hour later
———————
hanbin sat impatiently.
he was worried to say the least; this would be the first time yuri and hanbin would be talking in real life.
hanbin wasn't sure how yuri would react to him, if she would think he was a total loser or the exact opposite. he hoped for the latter, but was still filled with uncertainty.
hanbin tapped his foot anxiously as he watched people start walking toward his area.
hanbin stood and dusted off his pants, trying to make sure he would make the best first impression he possibly could.
hanbin's breathing became unsteady as he waited for the now-dark haired girl to appear.
he felt his heart stop when he saw her; the girl he would do anything for, the girl who never left his mind.
hanbin froze as yuri spotted him. she waved and quickened her pace, eager to talk to him.
"hi," she said, staring up at hanbin. "thanks for coming."
hanbin opened his mouth to say something, but no words would come out.
he simply nodded before heading to the baggage area.
yuri trailed behind him, suddenly sensing the awkwardness in the air.
they stood next to each other for a moment, both trying to find a solution to the tension.
"i'm sor-" "i'm sor-"
they laughed as they cut each other off. "well that's one way to break the tension," hanbin said as his cheeks started to redden.
yuri nodded as she grabbed her abnormally large suitcase from the rack.
hanbin placed his hand over hers absentmindedly before quickly stepping back. "my bad," he bit his lip, "i thought you'd want me to carry it for you." he trailed off, completely embarrassed.
yuri laughed and slid the suitcase toward him. "i accept your offer," she beamed at him, "men are only good at one thing anyway~" yuri mocked as she stuck her tongue out at him.
hanbin rolled his eyes before guiding her to his car.
he placed her suitcase in the back seat and opened the passenger door for her.
"ooh~ a gentlemen," she gasped as she sat on the leather seat. hanbin laughed before returning to the driver's side. as he sat, he suddenly felt anxious again.
what are we even going to talk about, he thought before starting up the car.
———
all of hanbin's concerns flew out the door when yuri fell asleep a mere three minutes after he started driving.he smiled to himself and stole glances at her any chance he could. he adored her, he always had.
hanbin knew from the first moment they had met that he had taken a liking to her. yes, she could get annoying at times, but he didn't mind. she was exactly the opposite of him; outgoing, decisive, and charming. he knew that there was no chance of her liking him the way he liked her, but that couldn't stop him from trying. he wanted to be in her life, even if he had to fight to do so.
he knew that something must have happened for her to leave the country, but he didn't want to pry. hanbin's main concern was making sure she was safe and content.
———
hanbin shook yuri gently. "ri, we're here," he said as he gathered her belongings quietly.
yuri groaned and slowly got out of the car.
she interlocked her arm with hanbin's before leaning her head on his shoulder. "lead the way, binnie!" she said, attempting to be enthusiastic, but anyone could see how exhausted she truly was.
he led her into his home and up the stairs slowly. hanbin directed her to the end of the hall and opened the door slowly, not wanting to wake his parents. "you can stay here," hanbin whispered before sliding her suitcase to the side and preparing the bed for her.
yuri muttered a thank you before letting herself fall into the bed. hanbin laughed softly and closed the blinds. "do you need anything?" he asked as he started closing the door.
yuri shook her head and repositioned herself on the bed. "i'm okay now," she whispered softly, "thank you, hanbin, this means a lot."
hanbin muttered a you're welcome before closing the door gently.
as hanbin laid in his bed, he smiled to himself.
he had finally gotten her back, the one who meant the most to him. he was determined to not let her go again.
