Amnesia

chapter 7: Campfire

Thomas told Gabe he couldn't touch anyone or anything. "But how do I go to the bathroom than?" Gabe asked. "Just be careful, okay?" Thomas said. "But there must be something that can hold electricity?" I asked. "Rubber, I think I know something." Grace said and she walked into the house. When she came back she handed a pair of pink rubber cleaning gloves to Gabe. "Oh no, I am not going to wear pink gloves." Gabe said. "Okay than, that means you'll have to pee in your pants." Grace said. "Ugh, give me the gloves." Gabe put on the gloves. "That will help, but you still need to learn how to control it and we need warn the others." Thomas said. "We can tell them at the campfire tonight." Grace said. "Which campfire?" I asked. "Every two weeks we have a big campfire behind the house." Grace explained.

Before we went to help with the campfire, I went to train with Talia and Gabe. It was more like watching how Gabe flirted with my sister, but she focused on me. "Isaac, I will throw a rock at you and you'll try to let it float." Talia said. She threw the rock and I put up my hand, the rock hit it. She threw another one, I didn't hold it. She threw rock after rock, but it didn't work. "Isaac, concentrate." Talia said. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the rock flying towards me. "Yes you did it!" Talia said. I opened my eyes and the rock was floating before my hand. I moved my hand up and down and the rock moved with it. I started laughing, Gabe was right it is pretty cool. I saw a bright spark and the rock flew away. "Aww yeah, that was so awesome!" Gabe said, he wasn't wearing his gloves anymore and electricity was wriggling around his hands. "Gabe be careful, you could have hit me." I said. "Oh come on man, that was freaking amazing." Gabe said, Talia was laughing too. "Okay that was kind of cool." I said. "Let's play a game, I'll throw a rock at Isaac, Isaac will catch it with his telekinesis and throw it in the air and Gabe will shoot it." Talia said. "Sure." Gabe said. Talia threw a rock at me I catched it and let it float higher into the air, Gabe moved his hand and the rock flew away. We went on like that for a couple of minutes and than we went back to the house for dinner.

It was already dark and the only clock in the house showed that it was around 8 pm, people were walking in and out of the house to bring food and drinks outside. It still bothered me that I only know a couple of these people, but I will introduce myself to a few at the campfire. I heard some people cheer outside and looked out of the window, there was a big fire inside a circle of stones. I walked outside and sat down next to Thomas, he looked nervous. "Are you nervous about telling everyone about Gabe?" I asked him. "No, do I look nervous?" He asked. "Yes and I don't mean the kind of nervous you are for a test, but the kind of nervous you are when a family member is in the hospital and you don't why." I said, Thomas smiled.
"That is a very specific way to discribe nervous." Thomas said. "Yeah, I don't why I said it like that. Maybe I have a family member in the hospital." I said. "I wouldn't think too much about it." Thomas said. He got up and climbed on a tree stump, he put his hands around his mouth and told everyone to stop talking. "Some of you may know what happend with Gabe this morning, he fell against the dome and triggerd his power." Everyone started whispering, but Thomas told them to be quiet again. "Gabe, could you show them?" Thomas asked. "Sure" Gabe got up and took of his gloves. "Isaac, can you throw a rock up." Gabe asked. I nodded and let a rock float up, he moved his hands and shot the rock out of the air. Everyone started whispering again, Gabe shot another rock and everyone was silent again. "There is nothing to worry about, Gabe will wear rubber gloves so the electricity can't hurt anyone and he will train with Talia and Isaac. And before we go back to the campfire I have something else to tell you, I uhmm. I think I might be gay, no I am gay." Thomas said. So that's why he was so nervous, everyone started cheering. Thomas wasn't standing on the tree stump anymore, now there was a very tall guy trying to get everyone quiet. "Who is that?" I asked Gabe. "That is Beam his real name is Damian, but we call him Beam because of his bright blue eyes ." Gabe said. "Oh makes sense." I said. "Well I have something to confess too, I'm gay too." Beam said, everyone cheered again. I saw that Thomas was smiling and he blushed when Beam came down to talk to him.

I talked with Gabe the rest of the evening, because Thomas was talking with Beam. The campfire was very nice, they even had gitars. Gabe asked my sister if she wanted to dance with him, she said yes. More people started dancing, Thomas with Beam. "Isaac, why aren't you dancing?" Grace sat down next to me. "I can't remember much, but I can remember that my dancing isn't great." I said, Grace laughed. "That is a terrible excuse."
"Why?" I asked, she smiled at me and got up. "Isaac, dance with me." Grace demanded and she pulled me up. I saw Talia looking at me and she winked. I know what she tried to say, but I ignored it and spend the rest of the night dancing with Grace.
