5 weeks later

It's been weeks since we last talked. All he does is put the food on the desk and walks out. He said that I was 'grounded'.

I marked the days off using the calendar on the wall. The summer holidays were coming to an end. My mom must have called the police by now.
I could imagine how she was acting right now in my head. She must have called my dad's phone 50 times. Then called my phone another 50 times. I marked off another day, then went to bed.

I woke up to someone stroking and playing with my hair tucking it behind my ear. I opened my eyes and looked up slowly. I was so scared and creeped out, it was like I was in a horror movie. I looked up to see him sitting there. He smiled and kissed me on the head.

"I didn't mean to wake you up sorry."
I just lay there. This guy gets weirder by the day. He smiled and walked out. I stared up at the ceiling. All the memories of my mom and dad came to mind. All our family days out and previous camping trips.

A tear fell. I had, had enough. I was always scared he was going to kill me, but at this point death seemed like the best option. I slowly creeped out of bed and tried the door. To my disappointment it was locked. So I tried the window. It was covered with a strong wire mesh. That was securely fitted on.

I looked around the room for anything sharp that I could use as a weapon. I looked at the lamp and walked over to it. After reviewing and examining it, I decided it was my best shot.

I unplugged it and took off the lamp shade. I smashed it against the desk and put it under my bed. I kicked all the fallen glass into a pile. I tried to take the wire mesh off the window, but kept failing. I gave up and went back to bed. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

For days I watched him, studied him. I noted down what times he went out hunting or where ever he went. I noted down what time he came back, made dinner and took the dishes to wash. And what time he came to say good night.

Looking over my notes I chose the best time to escape. I figured it would be best after dinner when I had finished eating. That way I would have more strength and energy to last a few days. It would be dark too, giving me the advantage because I could hide better.
