Zoe POV ( Kiera's mom)

I picked up the phone and anticipated what was to come.
"Hello."

"Mrs Lawrence. Kiera has been found." I started to smile and laugh.

"You've found her."

"Yes, she was found in mount massive-woods. We need you to come as soon as you can. Do you have your own transport?"

"Yes I'll be there soon."
With that I grabbed my keys and ran. I didn't even grab my coat or lock the front door.
I got into the car and started the engine. I took a deep breath and sorted the sat nav out, and started to drive. I didn't watch my speed, I'm sure I broke the speed limit a few times.

Once I arrived I was greeted by a cop that pointed me in the direction of Kiera. I started to jog to her. There were police officers every where. There were lights flashing in my face. When I saw her she was shaking and talking to Michael and James. I had waited for this moment for weeks.

She looked up and ran to me. I felt so relieved. It's hard to describe the feeling. I started to cry and just held her as tight as I could. I pushed her away slowly.
"Where's your dad?"

She started to cry heavier, I knew what the answer was.
"Oh god no." I covered my mouth and dropped to the floor. I couldn't control myself. I had just lost the love of my life.
After a while we went home, the ride home was silent and depressing. Neither of us were hungry so we went straight to bed. Kiera slept in my bed and we left the lamp on, just to make her feel safer.

I got up early in the morning and took a shower first. I shook her and called out her name. She jumped and grabbed my arm.
"It's just me sweetheart." I whispered to her to try not to make any more sudden movements or noises.

She sat up and wiped her eyes. it broke my heart seeing her like this, god knows what he did to her.
"Sorry."

"It's ok don't worry, you'll get better with time." I gave her a reassuring smile. "Go have a shower and get dressed, we need to go to the police station in a little while, to give your statement."

She nodded and I left to go downstairs to make breakfast. I stood by the door and just stared at the seat he last sat in when I gave him breakfast. I sat in the chair and cried. I couldn't hold it in anymore, I tried to be strong for her but I couldn't.

I cried and cried until I physically couldn't anymore. I got up, washed my face and started to make breakfast. She came down stairs and sat down. I tried not to look at her, I didn't want her to see I was crying.

Once I made her breakfast I put it on the table and let her eat while I made mine.

"Mom, you don't have to hide from me." Tears started to fill up my eyes, and I began to cry all over again. She came and hugged me. I gave her a weak smile.

"You should sit down, I'll finish this."
I smiled again and sat down taking her kind offer.

We ate breakfast and went to the station. I waited in the waiting room and was later called into the room by James.

I walked into the interview room after him. Michael was sat across from Kiera. He gestured for me to sit next to her. I held her hand as she continued her story. It made me sick, what hurt me more is that she watched her father die.

Once we finished we left. We kept up to date on the story via the news. The police started to search the lake for bodies. There were a lot of them, but only one mans body. I never thought I would ever see him like that, ever.

After the body was examined and given as evidence, we were allowed to bury him. We had the funeral and tried to live as best we could. We visited the grave as much as possible, Kiera went everyday.

I had to take extra hours at work to keep up with the finances. It felt wrong leaving her at home but I had to at some point, I wasn't going to be there forever.

He finally confessed to everything and was put into a mental home. Hopefully for, forever.

Case update.
The Mount Massive police department are under investigation. The Mount Massive department manager that spoke to us has been arrested. The man that kidnapped Kiera is called Ian Tilley.
