It's been 2 years...Hi!

I'm back, and my writing style is better than before!

Kiyotaka POV

After a few minutes; half an hour to be exact, we continued venturing down the forest. The steep path ended as we got past the forest, and we're now walking on a grassy area.

The land isn't necessarily flat, of course. It just means that we're still in the mountains, but I feel that we're definitely close to our destination.

We've been walking in silence thus far, but the atmosphere isn't really awkward or tense. Perhaps it's because the three of us aren't really the sociable types, or maybe because we don't know each other that we're assessing what kind of person the other one is, but the silence doesn't look like it's gonna disappear anytime soon.

Well, I don't really mind continuing like this, but having a conversation with other people will train my conversational and communication skills.

Of course, that kind of thing is not taught back in the White Room. They deemed it as an "unnecessary factor" for a perfect human.

It goes without saying that I disagree. Anyone with conversational skills is pretty amazing in my opinion. Seeing someone coming up with topics to initiate a conversation, to know how to properly listen, when to answer, when to change the topic and how to do so without leaving an awkward feeling on the other person, how to validate their feelings, how to give your opinion to prolong the topic, when to end it, and how to continue whatever you're doing without getting awkward about it.

Seriously, I cannot imagine myself being an extrovert. Well, I'm not really an introvert either, I think, but I don't particularly dislike talking to people.

They fascinate me, people and other races, that is. They say that each and everyone of us is fundamentally different. However, to a certain extent, we are all the same.

I want to know what kind of things separate us. There has to be a concrete answer for this. If not, then I wonder...

Will my thirst for the answer be ever quenched?

"Kiyotaka-kun, you look like you're in deep thoughts, mind sharing it with us?"

"Oh...was it that obvious?" I'm surprised, I'm pretty sure my expression didn't change.

Wait, this is the first time someone read through my face.

"Hmm...no, not really. I just had a feeling something is bothering you."

"Well, not exactly 'bothering' me, but I suppose you can say that I'm pondering about something."

"I see, so Sensei is silent whenever he thinks about something... I'll remember that." Mori's statement earned a giggle from Motoaki-san.

I can't really deny that, though. But I can't say that it's true either. Usually, people tend to be silent whenever they think of something so that their brain solely focus on it. To be able to concentrate, long story short.

In the first place, there's no real reason to think out loud, much less talk while thinking about something that's not supposed to be shared to people.

It's not an interesting topic anyway, so I guess there's also that.

"Are we close?"

"We sure are. In fact-"

Before Mori could finish what she was going to say, a shadow flew past above us, making me instinctively look up in the night sky.

Before I could admire the beauty of the stars in the sky, someone tried to kick me on my left arm, which I instinctively caught with my right hand.
