cymbeline turned to look at eddie, realizing what he had said. "feelings, for someone i just looked at?" she asked "i would never, and besides, i don't like girls like that...everyone would think i was..weird". she could imagine it now, she would be the new freak of the school, and she would have to leave town, change her name, and not exist anymore as cymbeline.

eddie snapped his fingers in front of cymbeline, catching her attention finally. "come on we have to get to english class or miss dornstone will be pissed off" he said, hurrying off through the now mostly empty hallway, cymbeline trailing close behind, the fear of being late on the first day of her junior year creeping up on her like a venomous snake.

once they had reached the classroom, the pair took the seats closest to the back of the room, setting their books inside the lab tables they sat in, ironically enough, this used to be the science room, but nobody cared, tables were better then the cramped desks they had to sit in.

the teacher looked up at the class from occasion from behind her tiny, metal framed spectacles, taking attendance to see who would be hated for the rest of the school year for being late on the first day.  she caught a glimpse of eddie from the back and shook her head "edward munson, back in my class again?" she asked, standing up straight now, her arms crossed over her chest "disappointing to say the least"

eddie laughed before sending finger guns over at her "you know it miss dornstone, i just love your class" he said sarcastically before turning to look at cymbeline, noticing she wasn't paying any sort of attention to him at this point, her face buried in the rustic cover of what appeared to be a book of fairytales. "are you reading a book about fairytales? aren't those for kids?"

cymbeline hadn't heard him and continued to read and read, enthralling her mind with scenarios or goblin kings, fae, mermaids, and princesses who become knights to save the ones they love. in her own world, she always imagined she would be a fairy princess, destined to have to save her own kingdom from a terrible fate, but along the way she would fall in love with someone special.

her fairytale induced thoughts were interrupted when her book was snatched right out of her hands by mrs. dornstone herself, watching as the old woman took the book and ripped it in half, an axious yelp leaving cymbelines lips. "no..." she whispered as she watched the torn in half book fall to the ground, the elderly teacher going back to the front of the class to continue with her boring lecture nobody was paying attention to.

cymbeline rushed in front of the table and picked up the remains of the book, holding it close in hopes that maybe she could repair it, or even find someone to fix it, which would be rather difficult since the book was one of a kind after all.

eddie looked over at her and felt a twang of sadness linger in his heart for her "you ok bells?" he asked, watching as she stood and circled back around, sitting next to him once more. she buried her face in the remains of the book, her tears soaking the pages "she ruined my book" she said, her words muffled by the paper her face was buried in "this book meant so much to me...it belonged to my mother"
