"now when i beat your ass at these games." sadie forewarned as the five of them walked down the pier, "i think you should totally take the prize as compensation, and use it to soak up your tears." she reminded chris with a teasing smile despite the fact she was walking next to maisie.
"woah." the boy suddenly halted in his tracks causing everyone to stop walking. "i think you're a bit confused there sades. "cause it'll be you who needs to wipe your tears when i wipe the floor with you." he laughed.
"oh please christopher." sadie narrowed her eyes taking a step closer to the boy. "as if you have a shot at beating me." she scoffed.
"uh yeah i think i do." chris deadpanned.
"okay try me." the brunette narrowed her eyebrows. "maisie and i have been coming here for years. i could kick your ass at all these games blindfolded."
"oh yeah?" chris asked nudging the girl with his shoulder, a small smirk falling onto his lips as she nudged him back, repeating the word 'yeah.'
"yeah?"
"we get it you're both competitive!" nick groaned stepping between the duo and simultaneously glaring at their eagerness to argue - whether it be a joke or not, he just wanted to play some fun arcade games and he didn't think that would be the case if he spent the day with those two.
"leave them alone." matt shook his head with a small smile. "it's cute." he mocked, pouting as he looked at chris who scowled at his brother.
"sadie gets salty when she's competetive." maisie started to explain and fill the silence. "she hates to lose. she's kind of a sore loser?" she pursed her lips in thought, making eye contact with her best friend.
"i'm not a sore loser. i just don't like to lose." sadie rolled her eyes and matt furrowed his eyebrows, looking more confused.
"is that not what a sore loser is?"
"well maisie you're going to have to pick up the pieces when i'm done here because she's not gonna survive this." chris said and maisie blinked, having no idea what any of that meant.
"alright sturniolo, darts first. don't worry maise i'll win you a stuffed animal." sadie retaliated, though her eyes didn't leave chris in a challenging manner.
nick turned to maisie who shrugged. "i always lose." she explained, drawing her lips into a thin line.
sadie went to interact with the girl but chris turned around and quickly made his way to the game of darts closest to them. the competitive side of sadie caught up to him and she was quick to pass him and be the first one at the game. she wasn't lying when she said she didn't like to lose.
