Larchkit's eyes stretched widely as he watched Frecklewish and several other warriors of ThunderClan advance onto the lone warrior. Mapleshade rushed into the clearing, her tail streaming behind her. To Larchkit, it looked like she was snarling something to Appledusk, but he wasn't sure.

Appledusk sent one look at Mapleshade and he rushed out of camp, calling, "Just don't attempt to swim to the RiverClan camp!"

Mapleshade rushed past Larchkit and his littermates, settling herself on her nest. Larchkit blinked, and he looked back outside.

"No one try to go over to the RiverClan camp!" Oakstar called.

"Mapleshade?" Larchkit mewed, wanting to know what had happened. "What happened?"

Mapleshade didn't answer.

Larchkit pressed, "Why was Oakstar so hostile to Appledusk? Was it because he smelled weird?"

Mapleshade shook her head. "No. It was because Appledusk supposedly 'killed' Oakstar's son, Birchface, along with his apprentice, Flowerpaw, when Birchface fell into the river, and Flowerpaw died trying to save him."

Larchkit looked at the gorse tunnel that was the entrance to the camp. "Oh...." He trailed off, seeing Frecklewish padding out of the tunnel.

Where's she going?
