CHAPTER 8

As soon as I saw Jean waiting at the building gate I knew that I was in trouble. I quickly pushed Rowan into his car and told him to drive away fast and then I rushed towards Jean. He kept looking at me struggling with bags and Declan but he didn't bother to help.

Jerk. I won't blame him though, the kind of situation we are in can make anyone misunderstand it. I stood right in front of him panting as I choose my words carefully.
"Hey I di-dn't knew you would come so early"
" Who was that?" Shit !!who replies with a question. This proves he is really angry. God knows how am I going to survive this. Gaining courage I spoke a bit loudly.
"I know you are curious but let's talk about it while going up and now be a gentleman and hold this bag while I hold Declan". Unbelievably he followed as I said and took the bag from my hand. I held Declan closely to my chest and then signalled him to follow me. While going up I told him the entire story right from the days when I started to work in that company.

The frown on his face kept deepening as I went ahead with my story.

"Hmm ok "
Just ok. I explained him the story while holding Declan in one hand and he is saying ok. I guess somethings never really change but him doubting me was not a good start to our relationship.
It was now quite understandable that my current condition was hopeless and void of help.

Yet I was happy that at least I had someone to rely on now. I still had to make dinner for three of us and Jean doesn't know how to cook. As I was about to enter the pin code to my apartment the door opened revealing Ruby all dressed up like a shut.

"I am going on a date so I will be back tomorrow "
Thankfully a good news. This means I have the whole apartment to myself today. I was already jumping in my mind. Hiding my grin I just nodded as I went in with Jean.
" Listen I have to go down to the market to buy some things till then just handle Declan , all of his toys and snacks are in his bag so entertain him, I will be back quick." I said as I kept my bag on the counter after removing my purse and then headed for the door.
"Declan be a good boy and don’t trouble uncle "
The boy had already started playing with his toys, he is so cute and obeying.
Jean just glares at me as I ignore it and go out.
Supermarket was just beside my building. As I was coming down I decided that I would make pasta and Korean fried chicken.

The market was as usual crowded, I went to buy the noodles needed .

Holy shit why do they sell noodles at the price of gold. Everything is so expensive here I guess I will just make them at home cause busying cheap quality is not good for health. Flour was equally expensive but I can always use it in future for making different dishes.

Next is chicken. Where is the frozen counter? Frozen chicken comes at less price 😉 and it is just the middle of the month. I don't want to spend my salary on two rich brats. Declan is definitely  not a brat but he is rich and used to eat expensive meals. I don't care as long as he doesn't feel sick after eating my food.
I picked a gochuchang sauce packet and a cheese packet. That is all I need for today. At the counter I grabbed a Twix bar and added it to my basket.

Total was 150$ pretty much affordable for just one day's dinner I thought sarcastically. I should have brought Jean with me at least I wouldn't have to pay.

Fuck you can't be thinking like this Scarlet. You are not stingy with money so don't behave like an absolute poor person dumbo!! I mentally slap myself and go out towards my apartment.

I dial in the pincode expecting to see Declan either playing or sleeping and Jean on his phone but the scene in front of me is nothing like what I thought. It made my heart so warm and I couldn't help but picture my future like this.
