CHAPTER 07: DID YOU MISS ME?

Did you know guys... they say when you miss someone... it means that you want that person in your life. It means that person is someone who you really care about... you may agree we all have that someone in our life who we miss every now and then. It would be a parent because you're living apart, it could be a sibling because you aren't living together anymore, it may be your best friend as now he/she has been shifted to some other place and now you can't see that person every day anymore. Regardless of all these relations... there is someone else too... that person... that damn person whose name is enough to bring a smile to your face... that person can make you smile like you're a crazy fool... in love baby.

Aarav... I guess he has found his person in Ankita... he can't help but smile like a crazy fool in... wait... he likes her... right? Does she like him too? Now this question has got me on the hook... I guess we will get our answers soon... as the story unfolds itself.

5th August 2015

We see Aarav walking alone on his way after school. He looks a bit lonely as there's no company around him. It's almost been a week since Ankita missed her school. Looks like the school isn't the only thing she's missing. As he's walking on the streets all by himself... he hears a voice... it seems that Ankita is calling him. Aarav thinks that it could be an illusion as he's thinking about her for days. He ignores it and keeps walking... suddenly he hears someone running towards him... he looks back and he's surprised... to see Ankita running towards him. We can see the smile of joy on his face as she approaches him.

"Ankita? You're back!" he says in an excited voice.

"Yeah... I'm back!" Ankita replies as she's exhausted after running towards him.

"Yaar... it's been a week and you're missing."

"I wasn't missing... I went on a little vacay with my family. Didn't Shreya tell you about it?"

"She did but only the day before yesterday... for those past days, I was wondering what happened. I thought you would be sick... I was... I was ---"

"You were worried?" she says in a low voice.

"I mean... so would have been Shreya if she didn't know that her friend is on vacation. I thought you would be sick and as a friend, I was concerned about your well-being."

"I can see the concern on your face... umph." she says while making a cute face.

"Uhm... Ankita... see---"

"let's just have something to drink and talk later... god I'm thirsty."

"It's my treat... wanna have ice-gola?"

"Okay...Call!"

After a while, we see both of them together near an ice-gola stall. They both seemed enjoying the drink and are about to head toward the end of the road. Before they leave, Ankita says that she needs to rest a bit on the bench near the stall. Aarav agrees to stay back and be a good company to her.

"There's a lot to catch up with you... our class teacher was caught flirting with your class teacher. I mean---" he says with a surprised emotion on his face.

"What!" with a surprised Pikachu face.

"Exactly... that was my reaction to this thing when I first heard about it from your classmates."

"My classmates... yeah... they told me about you coming to our class daily and asking for me."

"What...?"

"What do you mean what? Aarav, you came into our class looking for me every single day as I wasn't there."

"I was just casually asking them... about you and I came for other reasons as well."

"Oh yeah.... Other reasons."

"Yeah... I wanted some... notes regarding our chemistry subject as your class is still ahead of us in the chapter sections."

"Notes! That seems... like a white lie to me," she says in a sarcastic tone.

"Why are we even talking about this topic?"

"Because a little birdie told me yesterday that you are acting different for days now... ever since I went on my vacation you were behaving weirdly."

"Pfftt, weird? Also, that little birdie seems to know me well... let me guess her name... Shreya?"

"You aren't wrong and neither is she. Accept it."

"Accept what?"

"That you missed me a lot when I was away for a week."

"I was concerned--- let's just put that in this way."

"Aarav... did you miss me when I was gone?" she says while making those puppy eyes.

"I... I think we're getting late and the weather report told me that it's going to rain in the afternoon. Let's head towards home."

"Fine... I know you missed me."

"Ankita... let's leave that for now---"

"...(sighs) Aarav, Aarav, Aarav, why did you fall for me. I mean I'm a cute girl who's helpful, cheerful, loving, caring, respectful, fun going, entertaining, knowledgeable, strong, sensible, smart, intelligent---."

"Smart and intelligent are the same thing, Ankita."

"I know... but really... did you miss me when I was gone?"

"Yes... I did... as a friend."

"One day... Aarav... you will accept your fate. Just don't fall for me, okay? I'm too busy with my studies, extra circular activities, and social work."

"Fine... good for me. I don't like you in that way anyways."

"I'm relieved to hear that, Aarav."

After a while, they reach towards the end of the road where they usually part ways. Before leaving she says something that makes him blush like a red tomato... she says "Aarav... I missed you."

After saying that she immediately turns her back on him and leaves on the right end side. As she's on her way, it seems that she feels a bit hot after saying that. Regardless, Ankita is clueless about whether she likes him or not and vice versa the situation.
