CHAPTER 12: IT WAS A PLAN

Some things happen by coincidence, by chance and some happen by our own will. Those moments that feel so special... they feel like it's fate... but I feel that fate alone can't bring two people together. It's not just up to fate to bring them together, there should be a genuine effort by both sides to make it work.

Just like Aarav seeing that guy wasn't a coincidence... it was all a plan... Shreya planned that moment to happen at that time so Ankita could know whether his feelings are real or not. They wanted to see if he gets jealous or not... but what will happen if the truth is revealed to Aarav. Both Shreya and Aarav are waiting outside the school entrance for their friend.

"Shreya? You remember that day you told me if I ever felt jealous of her then I should come to tell you this—" he says.

"Were you jealous yesterday, when you saw him hugging her?" she replies.

"Uhm... yes, I was... but wait, how do you know about that?"

"Aree... Actually... Ankita told me about it yesterday."

"Oh... it seems she shares everything with you."

"Ah... I mean she comes to me for advice... she doesn't share just everything about you... so chill."

"I feel a bit awkward now... I mean I have my own things in life which I want to be kept personal... I told Ankita about it but it feels like it was a mistake."

"Why are you getting so defensive here bro?"

"Ask yourself about it... ask her about this then... wait I will ask her myself—"

"So, all that we talked about this on that day was a waste of time? I helped you recognize your feelings about her and now you are the one who's questioning me? Thank me because I made this possible... you got jealous and now it's clear that you like her."

"You speak like you did all this—"

"You damn right Idid... that boy yesterday who hugged her... he did it because I told him so... Iplanned all of this so that you can be clear with your own damn feelings kid." Shreya says as she's fuming with anger.

"Wait... so all this was a plan?"

"Yes, Mr. Smarty Pants!"

"... I have to leave now... we will talk later."

"Now you want to run? Bro just face me like a man and accept it... accept that you needed some help and it's okay if it was a plan... accept that you are insecure over her."

Aarav walks away from Shreya and after a while, Ankita comes out of the school entrance.

"Sorry yaar... I kept you waiting... teacher called me for some extra work." Ankita says.

"I wished you came here sooner... Aarav misunderstood everything... and now he knows that it was all a plan."

"What do you mean misunderstood? Didn't you tell him that I like him?"

"I didn't... I wanted you to tell him that."

"So... what did he tell you?"

"He quarreled with me over his insecurity that you must be telling me everything about his life and how immature it was yaar... I mean seriously."

"Shreya... why are you so quick to judge him... he's a bit insecure due to... see there are reasons... and I can't tell you about it, it's between me and him."
"Bro... just go and tell him this... he doesn't trust me over this... he said that it was a mistake that he told you about all that... because he thinks that you tell me everything about him."

"Fine... that was one thing... but why did you tell him about your plan?"

"One thing leads to another yaar... I was furious and I started blabbering... sorry naa."

"...(sighs)... fine... it's okay... let me talk to him."

Ankita runs into Aarav as he's heading home... he seems a bit furious over her.

"Yaar... just talk to me once," she says as he's trying to walk away from her.

"What's left there to talk about, Ankita."

"I can explain everything... just give me a chance."

"Fine... tell me that whatever happened yesterday wasn't a plan."

"Uhm... it was a plan but I can explain—"

"What's left to talk about it yaar? You told her about me... didn't you?"

"I said nothing about that... she knows nothing about a lot of things that happen between you and me."

"At this point... I don't know whether I can trust you on that. I'm upset and furious... I just can't think straight... let's just talk later... I want to be alone."

"But Aarav—"

Aarav walks away from her.
