Sometimes all you want to hear is an apology... a sincere apology by that person who made you angry. It isn't always enough to let go of someone just because he/she apologized. But it is enough for her... for Ankita I mean... circumstances were just too different that what she thought. She thought that he was a jerk but, he was a kid who was suffering from the pain that his father gave him. Of course, it doesn't justify his anger and actions, but she knows he's genuine with his apology and that is... enough.
27th July 2015
Ankita and Aarav are walking together as the school lectures are over for the day.
"Where are we going?" he says.
"I told you... I have my condition to accept your apology," she replies.
"Okay."
After walking for a while, they both reach an ice-cream parlor near their school area.
"Here we are!" she says with a smile.
"Now, tell me what's the catch?"
"Aree... you forgot already?"
"What did I forget?"
"Okay... let me tell you first that you rejected my treat that day. So today you must accept my treat... and then I will accept your apology."
"Shouldn't you think... I should be the one treating you."
"Treat me some other day then, today it's my treat."
"Yes, Boss." He says in a sarcastic manner.
"Who said I'm your boss... wait that sounds cool."
"Do you like it, boss?
"OH... I love it." She says giggling her heart out.
We see both sitting on the bench outside the ice cream parlor and eating popsicles.
"So... are we good?" says Aarav.
"Yes... APOLOGY ACCEPTED!"
"Finally... (sighs) It feels like a burden has lifted up from my chest."
"Was I a burden to you?" she says jokingly.
"Aree... not like that. I just don't want to hurt anyone in my life. I know how it feels to be hurt... I don't wish the same for anyone else.
"I'm just kidding yaar... why do you get so serious every time. I feel bad even saying that now"
"Sorry... I made you---"
"Shut-up yaar... from now onwards no sorry and no apologies."
"So... are we friends... yaar?"
"Of course, we are... yaar." she says with a joyous smile.
"Have someone told you... you have a beautiful smile," he says while staring at her.
"Are... you... flirting with me?" she says in a low tone.
"Ankita honestly, I was just complimenting. I mean your smile is so genuine and it suits you... you look so cute while smiling. I mean... (sighs) let's just forget that. I can't explain myself now."
"I always thought that you were a cold person but look at you now... you have this side too... it's cute."
"Now who's flirting with me?"
"It's a compliment yaar... fine I take it back, you're not at all cute." She says with a frown.
"Okay, baba... you are cute and I'm a jerk."
"Now that's like it... Uhm... tell me something else about you."
"Like what?"
"Like your hobbies, dreams, anything, I'm all ears."
"Hmm... I don't have any hobbies as such like I love to do household chores, I cook sometimes and my dream is to be an independent guy, like a stable income, small house with lots of... plants."
"Sounds a bit bland and too normal yaar."
"Hey that's what I love and I feel comforted whenever I think about my future being like this."
"It's good that you can do household chores and cooking, I mean everyone should learn those skills and be self-dependent."
"Exactly my point."
"Well, my hobby is reading fan fiction like romance novels, spice of Life stories, and such. My dream would be to be a social worker and help people around me. I also want to work as an animal support worker and work as an environmental social worker... I guess I want to do all of them."
"It's good that you have a proper dream... I just want to earn good and live a quiet life... ordinary life."
"We are just 15 years old yaar, we have a lot of time to think about what we want to do in life. I guess you will find something to dream for too."
"Yeah... I hope so."
Both Ankita and Aarav are now walking toward the turning point of the road.
"So, we are here already..." she says.
"Yes, we are... I guess I will take my leave now... I must take a left turn."
"I know, I will go to the other side."
"Yes... Bye."
As both of them are on their own separate ways, we see Ankita look back toward Aarav and say... "Let's Meet Tomorrow!"
"Tomorrow?" he says back.
"Yes... tomorrow. Let's Meet After School!" she shouts.
Aarav nods his head and giggles while staring at her.
