Raine
I laugh in amusement, Eda was trying to play my Viola, an emphasis on 'Trying to'. "Ughhh Raine, I'm no good at this" She moans handing me my instrument roughly. Kylie shot her head to look at Eda "Hey! Treat the instruments how you want to be treated!" she exclaimed, giving Eda a stare that may as well have said "DON'T MESS WITH THE EQUIPMENT." .
"Okay! I'm sorry, I'm sorry"
"Here Eda, Try this one." I say as I hand Eda a Bell Cittern. She grabs it and looks at it confused. "How's this any different from your music thingy??" She asks. "You mean my Viola? Well this is a Bell Cittern, it has a different shape and a different sound, it might be easier for you to learn too." Eda nods and starts strumming the chords, making a horrendous sound. Cooper covers his ears, Kylie Scrunches up her face and the rest of the club "Shushed" or shouted "Stoooooppp" at her. "Maybe you could practise at home?" Kylie says taking the Instrument out of Eda's hands(Much to everyone's delight).
"Promise you'll be careful with it?" Kylie asks, hugging it close as if she didn't want Eda to have it.
"Uhm, okay!" Eda says snatching it out of Kylie's grasp.
"CAREFUL EDA" She yelps. Probably regretting her decisions.
We all continued on with our practise and got to know each other better while Eda looked through a book in how to play the Bell Cittern; She looked like she was struggling to get it right so I walked over to her to help. Slowly I walk up behind her chair, I bead over to see what she's reading quietly. "Need help?" I ask, catching her off guard. " GAH! Raine, Oh my titan, you scared me." She says. "I was figuring it out how to play this darn thing". I smile at her and grab the book she was reading. "Well Firstly, see this here? That's where you want to put your fingers and then strum you index and middle finger" I explain to Eda, Watching her attempt to copy what I told her... Perfect! "That was great Eda!" The bell screams loudly, Lunch was over. Eda looks over to me, clearly disappointed. I pat her on the shoulder "Don't worry, I'll teach you how to play in the weekend". she smiles at me and we head out the classroom and start to walk to our next. "Thanks Raine, for letting me join, I can finally prove to Lilly that not everything I do is sports related!" Hahaha poor Eda, she's very well know for being disruptive and energetic. "No problem Eda!". We walk through the halls towards our class when Eda stops abruptly. "What's up?" I ask "Its a Hexside Guard" She whispers. I look over to where she was pointing.

"Huh, you mean a hall monitor?" I say, staring at the Eerily tall figure with a upside down skull for a face, eye sewn shut and a blue cloak. The thing swivels its body to face towards us, Clutching his long hook in front of himself. "Late? For class?" It mutters, Slinking forwards. "Quick Raine!" Eda grabs my hand and drags me down the hall. "What the heck? Where are we going Eda!?" I shout as she keeps dragging me round corners. "Look behind us!!" The Hall Guard (That's what I'm calling it. '\(.-.)/' ) was chasing us down the hall with immense speed, Yikes. "IT'S CATCHING UP EDA!" I announce as it swings the hook at us, just missing by a hair. "NOT FOR LONG ITS NOT!" She speeds up as best she could and swings around a corner, up ahead I see my class. "My class Eda!" Eda pulls me down the hall and skids to a halt at the door of my class. "Bye Raine!" She shouts as she sprints down the hall. "Byyyeeee!" I yell to her, I turn around to see the Hall guard two inches from me, I yank the door open and jump inside, slamming the door behind me. "Mx. Raine? Just in time! We were just about to start picking our partners for the band assessment at the end of term." Mr Lowie says, writing down group numbers and requirements onto the chalkboard. "Thank you Sir" I sit in my usual seat in between Cooper from bard club and a bat girl named Nellie. I watched Nellie write something down on a piece of paper and handed it to me.

I circled yes and passed the note back to her, she read it, smiled and nodded to me. Nellie was mute, She communicated through notes, drawings and music. I like Nellie, she's very kind, keeps to herself and is insanely good at the piano. Cooper was also very VERY quiet, only really talking to me for school things or having little conversations about interests and playing the flute. I didn't know Haylie, I just knew she was top of the class until I came here and has apparently been bitter about me taking her place ever since. I think she plays the Harp and the Saxophone. "Alright kiddos, It's time to join up into your groups and discuss performance ideas!" Mr Lowie said. Haylie scooted her chair over to our table and threw her things on the ground next to her. "Hey guys! I'm so excited to work on this project with-" She stops halfway through her sentence and glares at me. "You invited mister try-hard?" Haylie asks like me being in the same group as her was some sort of crime. "Actually, I'm not sure whether you heard but I prefer They/Them. Hope you don't mind" I say, trying to be as nice as possible. Haylie scoffed and turned to Nellie raising an eyebrow, Nellie just shrugged and placed a note on her desk so everybody could read it.
"Its good" Cooper says reading the notes for the flute
"Yeah, Its awesome!" I tell Nellie giving her a high-five
Haylie sat still, reading Nellies note silently, not looking up. Haylie grabbed the note and started to copy it down into her note book. "That's stealing, Haylie." I say in disgust, watching her blatantly steal from someone. "You don't know how friendships work clearly, whatever is hers, is mine!" Haylie snaps back. I glance at Nellie and saw her smile had dropped into a frown and she looked very uncomfortable. "Haylie give it back." I growled. Haylie rolled her eyes and tossed the note back at Nellie. Haylie leans over to Nellie and whispers "He is SO annoying" but just loud enough that me and Cooper heard it. Cooper finally looked up from his flute notes, looked Haylie dead in the eye and said "Raine goes by They/Them Pronouns. You are making them uncomfortable. Grow up." And with that, He looked down again. Haylie looked shocked and didn't know what to say. "Thanks Cooper" I say a grin plastered on my face and for the first time, He smiled back and said "Anything for a friend"
