Night of the Uchiha Massacre

Naruto, now 6 years old, was running through a grain field. His older cousin, Shisui Uchiha, wanted him to experience some places outside the village. Naruto took a stick and pretended to be a ninja fighting enemies from the Stone or Cloud. Shisui was tasked by Fugaku Uchiha to train Naruto early and in a more advanced fashion, a bit above Naruto's age but the young Uchiha proved to be extremely talented. According to Shisui's report, Naruto was very gifted in the arts of swordsmanship, possibly greater in potential than any in the Leaf village's history. Shisui was tasked to give Naruto more advanced lessons in sword fighting as a result.

''Enemy troops incoming. Reinforcing the line.'' Naruto said as he pretended to charge at an imaginery enemy line with troops behind him. ''Secure flank. Going in now.'' Naruto said as he swung the stick and then did a flip and pretended to fight Stone ninjas with a sword.

Shisui tackled his younger cousin and they fell down to the soft, golden fields. ''Oh no. The Leaf captain is down. Initiating tickles now!'' Shisui said as he tickled his younger cousin who laughed uncontrollably. Shisui too laid down on his back and laughed alongside his cousin.

''Big brother, when can I attend the academy?'' Naruto asked Shisui.

''Next month, Naruto. In no time, you'll be as strong as me.'' Shisui told his younger cousin who smiled.

''Really? I can become as strong as you?''

''You betcha.'' Shisui said and got up. ''Come on, Naruto. Let's get something to eat.'' Shisui was followed by an eager Naruto and they ate the food they brought for the picnic.

-the academy-

Naruto had joined the academy about 2 months prior and he was walking out the academy. According to the instructors, Iruka Umino and Mizuki, Naruto held a very tactical mind and was extremely smart for his age. In his free time, Naruto had been reading books on war tactics, history, philosophy, economics and chakra. Despite the complexities in some of them, he was eager to learn and Shisui helped him to understand. For someone his age, Naruto held great talent and was currently at the top of his class.

He walked through the streets and saw some bullies harrassing a girl. He remembered his older cousin's words and decided to help the girl. ''Hey! Stop that.'' Naruto said to the bullies.

''Get lost shrimp.'' the bully leader said and continued harrassing the girl.

''I said stop that.'' Naruto repeated once more, his voice cold and stern.

''You think you're so tough huh? Why don't you eat this?'' the bully said and tried to punch Naruto but the Uchiha grabbed his arm and slammed him on the ground.

''Why you!'' one of the other bullies tried to punch Naruto but the Uchiha dodged the attack and gave a chop on the neck. The 3rd one ran away, scared of the Uchiha. The first one got back up but Naruto gave him a punch that was pretty strong for Naruto's age. The bully was then given a kick and in fear, decided to run away.

''That's done. Are you okay?'' Naruto asked the girl who was a Hyuga. The girl dusted herself and stared coldly at Naruto.

''About time you simple commoners came to my aid. Now, be a good boy and bow to your betters.'' the Hyuga said, shocking Naruto.

''... what?''

''Do you know who I am?'' the Hyuga asked a bit angry.

''Not really. I never spent much time outside the compound.'' Naruto said but that explanation only angered the Hyuga.

''Then you must be really stupid. I am Hinata Hyuga, heiress to the Hyuga clan. Like all commoners, you are to bow down before your betters.''

''Listen, I barely know you and if this is your attitude, I can see why those bullies harrassed you. If you just decide to be friendlier, maybe-''
