Meri's POV:

I woke up to the blaring sound of my alarm clock

Tch, I seriously couldn't have slept any longer...

I quickly got up and felt a pain in my back, knowing exactly what was causing it.

I sighed and took off my shirt, letting my wings free and shaking the pain out of my left one. It made it feel a bit better but the pain still lingered. I quickly got up to change my clothes, I wore a NATO crop top with blue and red shorts, then I grabbed a dark green sweater and arm warmers (Note from Claire: the ones that look like Wanderer's from genshin impact). While I was leaving my room I checked myself in the mirror and counted the stars on my flag, even though there were none, which wasn't a surprise at this point. The states have been doing everyday ever since I told them we were going to temporarily move to EU headquarters after an incident happened at the UN building in New York- although we were never told what it was.

I went downstairs to see my states scattered in different areas. A big handful of them were sitting on the couch watching TV, another handful were playing board games and video games while the 13 oldest sat in the kitchen at the dinner table. I labeled every single seat at the dinner table to avoid arguments, it was quite the hassle but I think it was worth it. I walked towards the couch and saw that the TV was playing Octonauts (fr I loved that show as a kid).

"Good morning states!" I exclaimed as I crept up behind them.

Only 5 of the states sitting on the couch seemed to notice me and they all said good morning.

I decided not to bother everyone else and went straight to the kitchen to greet the eldest 13, knowing they probably cooked breakfast for themselves already.

"Hey guys, what's up?" I chimed

Delaware looked up at me and smiled while the others looked at me with an annoyed expression and ignored me. Mood-

I walked into the kitchen and prepared a basic breakfast for me and the 37 that hasn't eaten yet. "Breakfast is ready!" I shouted from the kitchen. Soon enough, the states started rushing into the room and sat down in their respective spots at the table. I handed each state a plate of bacon and eggs, seeing as that was the most decent thing I could cook right now with most of the stuff packed up. 

Timeskip to when they finish eating bc idk how to write this part

Most of the states have finished eating by now, I reminded them to pack anything they needed for our trip. The only states that remained in the room were New York, Connecticut, and Hawaii. Hawaii was sleeping peacefully resting her head on New York's shoulder as he scrolled through his phone. If only all the states could get along like this everyday... I sighed and got up to go pack up a few random unnecessary things. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little excited to go to EU headquarters given that I haven't been anywhere in Europe for a long time, hopefully it isn't too long of a stay though...

HIIII ANYGAYS i had to wrap up this chapter pretty quickly bc its 12:30 AM rn anddd surprisingly im tired so i may or may not post another chapter later at 1:00 AM but we'll see!
