after charlène's recovery, life at home settled into a new rhythm. with charles and isabel by her side, charlène's innocent laughter filled the apartment once again. her memory might have been a bit hazy, but her bond with her "mommy" and "daddy" only seemed to grow stronger.

"what would you guys like for lunch today? should we doordash or cook?" isabel asked.

"hmm, i think its time to eat out, isa." charles stated, and isabel glanced at him, looking a little surprised, but not to obvious.

"are you sure, charles? do you think she's ready to go out yet?"

"its fine, i also want us to try this new restaurant here in monaco. the owners are family friends, and they are waiting for my visit. i would like to take you there, if you want to, of course. if not it's alright, no pressure." charles spoke.

she laughed. "of course, don't worry. i would love to go there with you, charles. but let me get ready because i look disgusting right now." isabel replied, heading to the apartment next door, where she had all her stuff.

"you always look beautiful though." charles said to himself. "are you ready for an adventure today, sweetheart?" charles smiled.

charlène turned to him, since she was kind of distracted by her new toys, a barbie and a dinosaur she got gifted back in the ER. "yes, daddy!" charlène clapped her hands.

the three of them set out for a family lunch at a cozy cafe, hand in hand. the city buzzed around them, a backdrop to their little world. inside the cafe, charlène's eyes widened as she took in the colorful desserts on display.

"what do you think, sweetie? which cake looks the yummiest?" isabel chuckled.

"that one!" she pointed at a cake topped with a swirl of pink frosting.

they shared a table, their laughter and conversation a warm melody. as they waited for their food, charles and isabel couldn't help but exchange a glance, a silent acknowledgment of how far they had come as a family.

"thank you for being here, for being a part of all of this." he whispered to isabel while charlène was distracted for a moment

"we're in this together, charles." a soft smile formed on her mouth.

charlène's enthusiasm for her meal was infectious. they shared bites, laughter, and stories, creating memories that felt like building blocks for their little family.

the night sky was a canvas of stars as they returned home. charlène was tucked in, her eyes fluttering shut as dreams carried her away. now, it was just charles and isabel, alone in the quiet apartment.

isabel opened a bottle of white wine, after charles' orders. they were in to have fun and get to know eachother. after a few drinks, chats, and both of them drunk, charles moved closer, his hand finding hers. they exchanged a soft smile, a silent understanding passing between them. as they stood by the window, the city's lights casting a warm glow, charles pulled isabel into his arms, their bodies fitting together as if they were made for each other.

"these moments alone with you... they're my sanctuary."

isabel leaned into his embrace, her head resting against his chest. she could feel his heartbeat, steady and strong, matching her own.

charles tilted her chin up, his gaze locking onto hers. there was a tenderness in his eyes that spoke volumes. their lips met in a long kiss. as they pulled away, charles tucked a strand of hair behind isabel's ear.

"i want you, charles." isabel said, flirty.

"what? i didn't hear you." charles replied sarcastically.

"would you want me to whisper it in your ear?" isabel got closer to his face and did as she said.

the seductive ambience of the dimmed lights, charles' intimidating stare, and both being drunk, led them to sharing an intimate moment.

kiss after kiss, charles held the blonde woman and placed her on top of his marble kitchen counter. he kissed her on the neck, her moaning while trying to unbutton his long sleeved shirt. she succeeded, leaving his six-pack abs exposed. isabel couldn't help but stare at them. charles then noticed her stunned face and laughed.

"you know, let's take this to the room, should we?" charles smirked.

isabel nodded and with her in his arms, they headed up to the room.
