You know you would think that after couple months of been married the things your partner does will soon change. Or that you'll stop feeling the excitement of being married and that your husband will stop bringing you roses and gifts.
The door opened and Nixon walked into the kitchen with a bouquet of red tulips.
"Good evening my beautiful queen," he said before handing me the large bouquet.
"Good evening my handsome king," I grinned before he kissed me passionately. We pulled away and he smiled down at me.
"Where's my little princess?" he asked
"Upstairs," I answered while showing him the baby monitor.
Luna was still fast asleep in her crib. I removed my eyes from the monitor and turned the stove off.
"Something smells delicious," Nixon said while wrapping his arms around me.
"I wonder what it is," I said in curiosity and he placed light kisses on my neck.
"I think it's my wife," he said and I laughed.
"What? I wouldn't mind eating you out right now and your perfume isn't helping," he said before sucking on my earlobe.
"Nixon," I said and he grazed his teeth on my flesh. He pulled away seconds later and I turned around so I was now facing him.
"Okay for real though. Guess what I prepared," I said and he hummed.
He took sniff of the air and his eyes widen.
"Carbonara pasta," he said
"Your favorite right," I said and he nod.
"I asked you're mom for the recipe of your favorite dish. Work has been stressful for you since these pass few months and even though you hid it. I still see right through you so I decided to make your favorite so it would triple your happiness of arriving home," I said and he placed a kiss on my lips.
Making his favorite meal might not be the best thing a wife can do after his stressful events as work but I was trying.
I was a trying wife.
The moment Luna fell asleep I pulled out the recipe and Royalty called me on video chat as I was halfway in the preparation of his meal.
She guided me through the steps of his meal and I was grateful even though she had already given me the recipe.
"I love you so much," he said and I smiled.
"I love you too," I said and he pulled away
"Do you want to eat now?" I asked
"Hell yes," he said while talking off his jacket.
"Let me go wash my hands in the meantime," he said and I nod.
