He placed me down in the bed gently and I thanked him. My body was weak and brain felt drained.
All my nightmares had a effect on my body. My skin was very pale, I had dark bags under my eyes. I looked like the living dead.
It was like a few months ago when I escaped from that place.
My body felt exhausted
"This isn't much but it's home," he said as he spoke about the small space of the room.
"It's okay as long as it's not a smelly cold cell," I said and he removed my shoes.
He got to his feet while removing his guns and such.
"I'll get you something to eat if that's okay," he said while taking off his hoodie.
"I would that, thank you,"
"Any preferences?"
"Noodles," I said
"Well there's a good thing I have that," he said after giving it some thought.
"Meat balls or shrimp?"
"Meatballs for sure," I said and he smiled before looking away.
"What?"
"It's just that somethings never change," he said
"Oh," I said and he scratched the back of his head weirdly. He started walking away and I spoke.
"Miles?"
"Hm?"
"Why did you help me after everything? I mean you said, Alex didn't give you an order to do so why did you?"
"Alex doesn't alway give a say in whether I can do something or not. Alex and I we're partners so no I don't work for your brother and I only got into this because of you. And I did what I did because..."
"I love you Kat and to see the man you love lock you up like an animal. It didn't sit right with me so it's like I had to get you away,"
"I don't love him," I said
"Well you choose him didn't you," he said.
"I choose not to do things Alex's way that's different,"
"And look where that got you," he said and I looked away.
"Look Kat, that guy hurt you and didn't give a shit. I would never go so far in giving you a treatment so-"
"I'm hungry," I cut in and he sighs
"I'll go make you something then," he said before leaving.
I laid my head down after taking in a deep breath. I released it before covering my face.
