"so what, is Caroline not letting you speak to Lizzie." Penelope perched on the edge of the girl's sofa, her eyes scanning through the documents in her hands. "yeah, whenever I called she would tell me to stop calling, and now I'm blocked on all the phones I called on."

The brown-haired girl gazed at the extraordinary tribrid, her eyes widening in awe. "Have you tried apologising to her, her daughter was nearly killed. then her daughters' girlfriend told her it was her family's fault." Hope let out a deep, heavy sigh, her expression displaying her exasperation. She had been expecting better news than this, yet here she was faced with a situation that just didn't seem to be working out in her favor. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she had hoped that things would turn out differently. It was too late to turn back now though; she had already made her decision and now there was no going back. Although the thought of failure was consuming her mind.

"Why should I apologize for something that wasn't my doing? I didn't make anyone hate me, or cause someone they loved to die, so why should I be the one to say sorry?" Her emotions were starting to boil over as she spoke, her eyes blazing with indignation. It wasn't fair that she had to take the blame for something that she hadn't caused. hope spoke, "I had nothing to do with it so why should I have to apologize to her? Besides, she's been around my father long enough to understand what it's like being a Mikaelson. How dare she act like this!"

Penolpe shot a glare at the girl, her annoyance palpable. "If you don't intend to take my sound advice, then don't seek it. I'm not here to debate your decisions or provide counsel on your personal life. the girl spoke, giving the paper to the mikaelson.

"I'm here to give you work since you haven't been at the office for three days, and that week we were on business in mystic falls." the girl nodded and looked over the sheet of paper.

Hope looked at the sheet before her, her eyes scanning it for the name of her girlfriend Lizzie. To her surprise and confusion, she found that it was not there. "Wait," she murmured, a knot forming in the centre of her chest. "Why isn't Lizzie's name on this?" She continued to study the list, unable to make sense of what had happened. But it was only when she heard a low whisper that clarity began to form within her mind: people nodded. "I came here to tell you that Lizzie quit, she sent her resignation letter in yesterday."

hopes face fell as she realized what was happening. After months of working tirelessly to make things work with her and Lizzie, it had all been for nothing. She felt a wave of sadness wash over her and it took everything in her not to break down right there in her front room. Instead, she steeled herself and forced a tight smile on her face before turning back to Penelope.

"if thats what she want, i cant stop her." Hope said, taking a deep breath before continuing. "But I do appreciate you coming here to tell me in person. It means a lot that you took the time to do that."

Penelope nodded, her face softening with understanding. "I'm sorry," she murmured softly as she gave Hope's arm an affectionate squeeze before turning her attention back to another set of documents.

"we already found a replacement, so she needs to be out the company complex in two weeks." Hope looked intently at the girl, her gaze conveying a deep curiosity. "you didn't ask me about this. im literally the one running this business." penolpe shook her head, "Miss. Mikaelson said to come to her. she said your dealing with personal issues and you need some time away from the office." hope stood up, her eyes blazing with fury.

"I understand, but I want to make one thing perfectly clear. I am still in charge and when I come back, nothing will alter that fact." She stomped across the room and threw open the door for Penelope to depart. "ill finish it off, and if you see her tell her, Klaus Mikaelson and Hope Mikaelson - Labonair, run this company." penople got up quicky and left.

the tribrid walked into her office, she saw rebekah sitting in her chair doing paper work, "get out." the tribrid stared at her aunt who looked surprised to see her.

"what?" Rebekah questioned.

"I said get out. This is not your company to manage, it belongs to Klaus Mikaelson and I. There's no place here for you when I return from my break, so leave now!" She spoke with an unwavering strength that had to be obeyed. the older women stared up at her.

"your on a break." the original spoke standing up. "not anymore." hope laughed. "get out, or ill make you." rebekah walked in front of the desk and smiled, "i was doing whats best for the company."

"well, i dont want your help. and just a reminder, you are not a CEO, or have anything to do with this company. if i hear that you have been here without my permission, you will see what im cabal of."

"whats wrong lizzie." caroline asked her hand resting on her daughters shoulder. "i just want to talk to hope, or even see her. it wasn't her fault." caroline shook her head.

"i think she has moved on." lizzie looked at her mum, who had sat next to her on the sofa. "what do you mean moved on, shes still my girlfriend." the vampire shook her head. "you were fired and shes taken the company complex back. you have to be out in two weeks." the silence took over the room as lizzie absorbed the news.

"she wouldn't do that, she told me she loved me." caroline just nodded, "Sometimes people lie, to make other people happy." caroline spoke pulling her daughter into a hug.

"i guess, we should start packing up my stuff, i guess im moving back home," lizzie said quietly. caroline nodded, "Well at least you have a place to stay until you figure out what to do next."
