49: The Kasui Miracle

3rd person pov:

Two months have passed since dabi found out about the egg. Everyday he watches over it. Skin turning a healthy shade of pink. Unlike the pail color it use to be. Life has come back to him. A reason to live lays before him. Waiting to breathe it's first into the world.

Hawks goes out every day to get dabi food. Since he doesn't leave the egg alone. After awhile Hawks beings to feel jealousy creep in. Yet he doesn't act upon it. As this is the only time he has genuinely seen dabi smile.

Every night Hawks would wrap his arms and wings around dabi. Taking in his smell as a comfort to go to sleep.

It isn't until month three when dabi doesn't even go to bed with hawks.

Dabi curls up around the egg and hums to it as he presses it gently to his chest.

That's when hawks has had enough.

One night while dabi is asleep. Hawks sneaks upstairs to take the egg.

Once in his hands. Hawks carries it downstairs to the kitchen sink. Where Hawks holds a feather high.

Hawks:"He loves you more than me. So I need you to disappear."

As Hawks stairs down at the egg. He doesn't hear dabi running downstairs.

Dabi:"Babe, have you seen the b-"

In a gasp of horror. Dabi sees Hawks about to strike threw the egg. So dabi pushes Hawks away from the sink.

Dabi:"What the fuck do you think you're doing!?"

Hawks glares down at dabi.

Haw:"Do you love that thing over me?"

Dabi knows this look and what follows it. So he backs off in terror. That's when hawks pushes dabi aside to get to the egg.

Haw:"Remember the deal you made to me. I was only to your father. Not a child. Now shut up and go to our room and wait for me there."

As Hawks raises another feather. Dabi wraps his arms around Hawks to keep his arms down and to his sides.

Dabi:"Don't do this, Please!"

Dabi cries tears of deep sarrow as a feather thrusts down towards the egg. So dabi pushes Hawks into the counter. Thus causes the egg to move just in time.

After dabi throws Hawks to the floor. He checks on the egg. That's when he sees a crack in the shell.

Dabi runs back upstairs and wraps the egg in a towel.

Dabi:"Please be alright."

As dabi clutches the egg. Hawks gets up with so much anger. That he tastes blood.

Hawks:^No more playing nice. Those days are over.^

Hawks goes to the bedroom and grabs a chair , and some duct tape before walking up to the attic.

Dabi sets the egg in it's bed and as he takes a step back. A massive feather wraps itself around Dabi's throat before pulling him into the chair Hawks has set down across from the egg.

Dabi gasps and grips the feather in resistance. So Hawks takes his time to restrain dabi wit g the tape.

Haw:"You did this to yourself. If you had only just gave enough shits about me and cuddled like a God damn good boyfriend. None of this would've happened."

Dabi:"B...babe i... uh..... I'm sorr-"

Haw:"Not another word. You've said enough for one day."

Tape is wrapped tightly around to ensure he can't get it off.

Once finished, Hawks turns his back to dabi.

Haw:"Watch closely as you destroyed your only chance at having a child of your own."

Dabi screams out to plead with hawks as multiple feathers seround the Basenet.

As Hawks feathers come down. Dabi closes his eyes and looks down.

The shell cracks as Hawks feathers pull away without a single drop of blood on them.

Haw:"How the hell is this possible?"

Dabi looks up and his eyes light up with joy. As he sees their baby boy surrounded himself in ice wings. The strawberry blonde baby with silvery blue eyes and eye markings from Hawks spreads it's wings and giggles as it reaches for one of hawks feathers.

The sight of the child's smile calms Hawks down, and he cuts dabi free to hold the baby.

After handing the child over. Hawks walks downstairs without another word spoken.

As dabi nuzzle the baby boy. He realizes that they never picked out a name.

Hawks goes out on the balcony with his head lowered.

Haw:"I'm such an idiot. I'm just like him. Never did I think it could happen, but monsters breed more monsters I guess."

Dabi:"If that were true. You would've done anything to finish our son off. We both come from monsters, but that doesn't mean we are. We can change together."

Dabi wraps an arm around Hawks and passes the baby off to him.

Scared and shaking. Dabi shows Hawks how to properly hold the child.

Dabi:"Don't forget to support the neck. Now what name should he have? My original last name is our of the question. So that part is settled, but first names are tricky."

Haw:"Yoshi."

Dabi:"No, all I see is a green dinosaur. "

Haw:"What about gojo?"

Dabi:"A hero with that name? No one would ever take seriously."

Haw:"Well what do you have in mind?"

Dabi takes a moment to think.

Dabi:"How about Kasui?"

Haw:"Kasui Takami, Not bad. I like it."

Hawks holds the baby close with a smile.

While dabi trembles in fear that Hawks could still try to kill the baby. That is until Hawks hands the baby back.

Even so, dabi won't forget what happened today.
