Chapter 7

Two pairs of eyes stared under the opening at the bottom of the marui pod where currently Jake and neytiri were having a heated conversation ni'awtu didn't like what she was hearing and if Jake thought she would leave them back to her clan for safety well then he had another thing coming " this thing this quaritch whatever he is he walked right under eywas nose" they could hear Jake saying as neteyam and lo'ak walked closer both asked what was happening but all they received were shh's " I cannot you cannot ask This I cannot leave my people" neytiri said huffing out a sigh as her voice started to sound hoarse as if she would cry " I will not" she finished as if to prove even more that she opposed the idea " he's hunting us...he's targeting our family" Jake countered try to get through to her that this would be the best and safest option " you cannot ask this the children everything they've ever known the forest this is our home" neytiri yelled out to Jake everything she knew everything their children knew even ni'awtu this was where it was here in the forest with their people " he had our kids under his knife even ni'awtu our god daughter" Jake said his tail waving anxiously as he tried to reason with his wife and it was beginning to work as neytiri took a step back and gasped her own whipping around angrily she walked over where her father's bow laid " my father gave me this bow as he laid dying and he said protect the people your turok makto" she finished her voice breaking and wavering as she spoke to her husband tears threatening to fall down her face " this will protect the people quaritch has spider that kid knows everything he knows our whole operation he can lead them right here" he yelled out they bet even neighbors heard him " if the people harbor us they will die do you understand look I've got nothing I've got no plan's but I can protect this family that I can do" as he finished what could have been considered a small speech neytiri looked to him sighed and put her hand on her head as if to get rid of a headache " but I know one thing wherever we go this family is our fortress" Jake said holding his wife by her shoulders and looking into her eyes " ok ok but what about ni'awtu we can't just leave her behind to deal with this alone" neytiri cried tears slipping down her face quietly " what about her nini was going to come with anyway I already sent word to her parents they agreed it would be safer and better especially since she wouldn't be alone but they did say they would miss her dearly" Jake said it wasn't just because quaritch had seen her and could roughly guess her importance to them no this decision ran deeper he knew her since the girl was a baby she was basically family no she was family and she had proven so time and time again when she came to him with problems one would ask their parents so he would be damned if he left her here on her own hugging his wife as she silently cried into his shoulder

A week it took a week for all preparations ni'awtu needed to travel back to the dark forest where her clan resides that took one day of riding nyx choosing stuff to take with her mother took two days to compromise on a balance between beautiful tops and bottoms, battle armor, and the mass of weapons her father insisted upon bringing eventually she decided on two pairs of armor and five weapons and the rest was clothes herbs seeds for her to make a medicinal garden and of course her mask the sully's during this time began to pack and say their good byes and on the fourth day ni'awtu visited the tree where he and her used to hideout together " I guess this is the last time I'll be coming here huh naymir" she said remembering all the times they came here she stared up at the tree loads of long forgotten feelings all swallowed her heart at once she would've left but there was something important in the tree that she couldn't leave without as she started to climb each time she went higher she could hear his voice " my my if I didn't know any better I'd say there's a thief climbing to my hideout" he told her once she remembered how sappy his flirting was she'd say what and he'd say that it's not right stealing peoples hearts that one always made her laugh "oh eywa your laugh is the last thing I want to hear when I die so sweet and beautiful if it was a song I'd listen to it forever " he would tell her that would always make her blush and he loved that too she swore it was his life's mission to make her blush he could have done something so simple but he still knew what to do to get her to blush as bright as the bioluminescent plants at night " hey there bunbun what are you doing with that basket here I'll carry it you just need to look gorgeous right there"  he was such a gentleman and when he'd take the heavy things he did it on purpose all because she said she liked seeing his muscles in action oh and she couldn't forget about his pet names for her tutu was the common one but he'd always call her his little bunny or bunbun that was his favorite especially when she just looked so darn cute no matter what she did he'd say it was because she would get mad and it'd look like she was a child who's fruit fell on the ground or when she was sad and her lips would get pouty and her eyes would get really big like puppy eyes no matter what mood she was in or what she looked like he'd always say she was his adorable little bunbun as she realized she had finally set foot in the hollowed out cave like crevice in the tree she grabbed a single braid that stayed out while the others were styled in a large bun this braid wasn't just a style choice it was a ritual of her people for two Navi who chose to court each other she and him had done so he had braided her hair the braid was on the right side of her face had been decorated with three different gems rose quartz for his love for her, sapphire for all the wisdom she had, and amethyst so they could have a long healthy life together at the end of the braid were two feathers one a little longer than the other but the purple one was to represent her and the black and orange represents him this had long shown she was already spoken for and even though he wasn't here anymore she had still refused to take it out and had oftentimes  braided it all over again that would've been his duty to do since he was courting her as she walked further in taking notice of how everything was covered in dust and all the birds and stuff had mostly taken it over of in a corner she saw a box no not a box the box the one filled with all the love notes from him the box with all the gifts he gave her the one with all the drawings the made together the box that held his thanator bone dagger and his iknimaya bow and quiver of arrows she lightly touched the outside of the box and traced the carved letters on the top he made it for her it was a birthday present it was special it was the birthday were they had their first kiss it was the first thing as a girl she had to struggle with especially since at the time she had never kissed or had thought of or had a boy to do so with she had assumed he'd kissed half of the girls in the clan at the time and let me tell you that was a very big number especially with the war over and there being so much peace around but still it would be normal for a girl to kiss or show intimate affection with the boy who was considered the second hottest guy in the clan and even outside of their clan he was considered one of the top three neteyam being second and wokan taking first Lo'ak was fourth only since he was also younger at the time but still his bad boy attitude was very well liked among the girls who only were presented with good boys or gentleman
Still though he chose her she wasn't to interested in staying to the side as she watched someone take care of her no she wanted to be able to hold her own and more while also having that sweet and loving family life one were she and her chosen could rely upon one another for any problems they had like her parents and Jake and neytiri the two biggest couples that were present in her life she wanted what they showed her what it truly meant to be with someone and she wanted exactly that so she learned everything as she called in she would ask around about what people were doing how they did it she would even ask them to demonstrate for her soon her father took notice and started taking her along on his olo'eyktan duties she would constantly wonder of and ask questions she also even asked her father why he would make the decisions he made and whenever someone would ask why she did what she does she would always say she was going to become a great warrior one even eywa would be proud of but she still wanted to learn what the tisahik duty's were in her eyes her mother was the strongest warrior she knew as she traced the letters she read what they said " for my future wife may eywa bless our paths" it was a simple sentence but it was sweet and had come from the heart but as ni'awtu's ears twitched at the sound of rustling she stopped her reminiscing and listened as closely as she could then there it was again it was behind her in the pillows and blankets that were thrown in a corner as she slowly began to back away box in hand she heard the rustling again but this time with a little meow now that made her curious thanators would never leave their young alone or they would have been close by but never away setting the box to the side she crept closer being quiet in her steps as she reached closer the meowing got louder and more frequent flipping the pillows where she thought she heard its noise from what greeted her was a small malnourished thanator kit well now this made less sense judging from the size and length this kit was already six months old but it had no fat belly and wasn't hostile to her in any way in fact right at this moment it was rubbing against her meowing and purring happily even though this confused her she needed to focus there was also a smell in the blanket and pillows she hadn't really smelt it earlier but now it's stench burned her nose moving the blanket halfway revealed exactly what had happened to it's mother she had died from a injury it had gotten infected and she couldn't hunt for her baby it would seem she felt bad for the creature it not only lost its mother but it had to stay here alone with no one to take care of it she thought it reminded her of what it was like after him she wouldn't eat or sleep for days and when she did sleep nightmares of what happened that day would haunt her Dreams maybe this was eywas way of saying sorry or maybe naymir asked eywa to create this coincidence especially since she was the great thanator warrior but either way she wouldn't be able to leave the poor thing here thankfully there was a piece of rope to the side that she used to carry the box grabbing the kit she placed it in the side bag she originally brought to put the box in with everything ready to go down the tree her tail wrapped around the rope attached to the box lifting it up she walked out and began climbing down as she reached the ground she called out for nyx hooting three times and clicking after after 5 seconds the drakonly arrived walking up to her rider nyx began sniffing her up and down soon enough stopping to sniff her arms interested in what it's rider was carrying in her arms she began nudging the bundle of cloth eliciting a small cry from the cloth to which she blew smoke from her nostrils " ok ok you impatient lizard I'll show ya" ni'awtu said laughing at the reaction nyx gave her pulling the fabric down it revealed the small kit already peacefully asleep nyx cooed at the small creature in front of her as she got closer sniffing the kit her eyes softened and she gently breathed smoke from her nose ni'awtu sighed happy that nyx accepted the baby " come nyx we have a long journey" ni'awtu said connecting their ques and climbing on top of the beast nyx gave a soft chortle and took off to the place she knew all to well

When ni'awtu landed at the sully's marui it was already night some of the other marui pods seemed too already be settled for the night ni'awtu started taking down all the things she packed and began to unstrap nyx  when neytiri and neteyam walked out to help her " neteyam take her bags in the house please we'll all need as much sleep as possible" neytiri asked her eldest son who just nodded and grabbed them neytiri walked closer to nyx and ni'awtu helping to unstrap the large beast when she noticed the cloth tied around the younger woman " Ma nini what is in that cloth" neytiri asked walking closer to said girl ni'awtu looked down she knew she could trust neytiri but again this was a baby predator it was in their nature to be wild but well she was always up for a good challenge " I found them at that place their mother was dead and they were so thin I couldn't leave it behind" ni'awtu explained she knew she wouldn't be able to hide it from neytiri for long but Jake on the other hand he could be as blind as a rock " nini what is it I will not make you leave it ok" neytiri told the girl walking closer and putting a hand on her shoulder so she pulled the the cloth off of the top of the baby as neytiri peered down at the small creature her face was full of confusion then surprise " oh the poor thing but you know it won't be easy to care for right" the elder woman spoke she was right it wasn't going to be easy there had been many a warriors in her clan to tame a beast like this baby but never without scratches or scars and that's only if they were lucky " I know but I can do it I know I can where I look into their eyes I can feel a connection like we were meant to be together and I couldn't just leave them all alone" I told her I really couldn't even if I wanted to clearly this had been a sign something to tell me that I needed to move on in the back of my mind I believed Naymir  sent it to me as a way of saying he was alright and that it was time for me to move forward " ok I'm sure you can do it but remember the first step is to give it a name then you can start the process and remember don't let Jake see it" neytiri said I knew she would understand she was even though she wasn't one for change she was always ready to listen " I was thinking of naming her solace I think that would fit her perfectly" I said staring down at the cub in my arms I thought it would fit perfectly she would be my comfort in a new place and I would be hers after all the misfortune she'd gone through " that sounds like a beautiful name come have you and solace eaten yet what am I talking about knowing you you left in a hurry without eating" neytiri told the girl and she was right because a couple seconds after she spoke the words a loud growl came from ni'awtu's stomach " oh my come on you there's some fruit and meat left eat that and then get some rest we have a long journey ahead of us" neytiri said pulling the girl inside so she could finally eat and get some sleep for the long tiring journey ahead of them

Howdey hey hey guys I'm glad a lot of people are enjoying this book and I really apologize for the long update times I was just trying to see if this book was going anywhere and It looks like it is but anyway an update i decided to make the dracary's clan have bigger tails sorry for any long time readers but I just thought it would be a nice choice and honestly half of what I imagine comes from my dreams and when I pictured their tails I was thinking about dragons how they have big bases but get thinner at the end and with quills or spikes all over them
