Chapter 5
"There's nothing really left to say, and I don't need you to explain, we don't need those lies. [...] I think we may have gone too far, we're losing sight of who we are, how do we get back? To a time when it was so easy, 'cause I need you, and you need me, oh, what happened to that?"
Left Alone by Sleeping With Sirens
Frank groaned into his arm for what felt like the millionth time in barely twenty minutes. Pete was seriously getting fed up.
"Dude, I don't know why I even fucking bother taking you out after your 'Oh, Gee and I broke up, I'm a princess and need to get a babysitter!' text if all you're gonna do is groan and moan,"
Pete crossed his arms angrily and slumped against his chair, irritated at his best friend. After the before-mentioned text from Frank, which wasn't exactly what Pete said, he kindly got out of bed at midday and put jeans on before dragging Frank to 'their' park.
Now, Pete knew what it felt like after a bad break-up, and especially after a bad break-up, how you felt like you couldn't get up of bed, like you were going to die alone and shit, but Frank was simply not cooperating.
Frank groaned again, his head lolled back against the bench with his hood over his head and his arm dramatically thrown over his eyes.
"That's it, either I'm leaving you or I'm punching you, there's no in between. What's it gonna be, Iero?"
"We broke up," The barely shorter one mumbled.
"Figures, fuckface. What happened?" Pete leaned forwards, placing his elbows on his knees and looking at his friend. Frank frowned and brought his knees to his chest, wrapping both arms around them and propping his chin on his right knee.
Even though he was beyond pissed at Gee- or Gerard - he was more heartbroken than mad, and he knew the red-haired beauty would never forgive him if he let the secret out.
Yeah, call him fucking stupid for still being attracted to Gee. Frank's frown deepened and he brought his thumb to his mouth, chewing on the nail.
"I can't tell you,"
And in that exact moment, he decided that the least Gee reserved was the right use of pronouns, and name. Because, you know, people give those to you for a fucking reason, not to ignore them and keep calling them the wrong fucking pronoun.
He, Gerard, was still the most perfect-looking human being that Frank had ever had the pleasure of laying eyes upon, but it wasn't his looks he fell in love with. It was Gerard. The way he made his heart beat faster with his kisses, no matter how many times he had tasted those lips.
He fell in love with the way Gerard swayed his hips, oblivious to the looks he was getting. He loved the way Gee's hand found his in the middle of the crowded hallways. He loved they shared the same likings and dislikes. He loved how they were so similar, yet so different.
He specifically loved the way Gerard would place kisses all over Frank's face when the latter sported a frown or a pout or a sad face to cheer him up.
Frank let his eyes close. He pictured Gee- Gerard. The man he had fallen for. Hard. It wasn't a feeling that would simply go away, and Frank knew that. Frank knew he had to do something about it. He was still very much in love with Gerard Way.
Damn, he thought. It must've taken a shit load of balls to dress in skirts every day. Not to mention a shit ton of indifference to not care what everyone else thought.
