Cole's pov) my girlfriend yn and I sat in the doctors office waiting to get test results back from yn's tests and when I tell you that our anxiety is high I mean it our three sons parker and Tyler are twins their three and our youngest Preston is almost a year they are all with my teammate nick Suzuki
" What if it's positive Preston's almost a year " she said and I smiled
" Well we can afford it that's for sure" I said chuckling
The doctor walked in and we laced our fingers together smiling hoping for the best
" Miss.ln Mr.Caufeild I have some bad news" he said and our smiles flatten
" What's wrong" I asked
" Miss. Ln has stage 2 breast cancer " he said and I froze and yn started crying
" How long do I have" she asked and I tried not to break from that question
" 5 years but with treatment you can have surgery it be cancer free" he explained and we nodded
" When can I start treatment " she asked
" Next week" he said and we nodded
" Thank you doctor" we both said and we both got up and left
The drive to Nick's was full of comfortable silence and occasionally conversation
" I'm gonna love you through this" I said kissing yn's hand and she smiled softly nodding
As I pulled into Nick's apartment complex we walked in went Nick's apartment knocking and the door opened revealing Nick with a sleepjng Preston in his arms
" Hey guys come in" he said and we walked in
" How were they" I asked referring to our two devils of toddlers
" Amazing they know hockey for sure we were watching hockey high the whole time " he explained and yn and I laughed
" Oh Lord " I said and yn started to tear up
" Yn what's wrong" he asked looking worried at the fact she was crying
" I have stage 2 breast cancer" she said and I grabbed Preston so Nick could hug her
" Please tell me this is a joke " he said hugging her
" I wish I could " she said and they were like that for about 2 minutes until parker and Tyler ran out
" Mommy daddy" they both said in sync
" Hey guys Nick can we tell them here" I asked and he nodded and we all walked into the living room I gave Preston back to Nick so I could have free arms as we sat next to the boys
This is gonna be tough because parker is a big mamas boy
" Boys you know how mommy wasn't feeling well"I asked and they nodded
" Well mommy had some tests done and turns out she's really sick" she said
" Well you can get better " parker said
" Yes mommy can get better but thiers a good chance mommy will go up to heaven" she said and parker looked mortified quickly hugging her
" No no no you stay with daddy tyty peston and I" he said and I let my tears slip
" Baby I'll fight har for you tyty daddy and preston alright " she said and he nodded Tyler went over to them and yn pulled him into the hug and I hugged them and yn looked at Nick who was holding an awake Preston
" Get over here Nick" she said and he walked over crouching and joined the hug
