Cole's pov eight years later) the twins are now 16 Preston is 14 and our youngest Eric is 10 yn went into remission a year before Eric was born and we had gotten married but now yn is in a hospital bed her cancer has came back And im standing in the corner of her room watching the boys with their mom
" Momma please don't go" parker said tears his eyes puffy red and glossy from the past week
" I'm sorry baby I have to" she said as she held all four of them Eric in her lap Preston next to her and the twins on either side
She looked at me and motioned me over so I walked over
" Take care of our boys and don't you dare quit hockey " she said causing me to laugh
" I won't I promise " I said smiling slightly
After a few minutes of talking yn fell asleep and we watched her heart beat stop and parker just started sobbing into yn's chest and I hugged the other three and all I could listen to were parker's heart wrenching sobs along with the other threes cries
Day of funeral) I was in my room getting ready when my door opened revealing jack Alex and Trevor
" Hey guys" I said and they smiled softly
" Hey man how you holding up" jack asked
" I'm alright " I said witch was true but not true at the same time
" How's the boys" Trevor asked knowing how close they were with her
" alright I end up with parker in my room most nights to make matters worst his girlfriend broke up with him the same day so I'm trying to keep him together but he mostly dives into hockey and the other boys are as you would expect devastated Tyler also throws himself into hockey Preston throws himself into his school work and Eric is just quiet doesn't talk much anymore" I explained and they nodded
" Maybe us being here will help" Alex said
" Yea maybe I've been watching the older two destroy the selves they eat but not as much as almost six foot one hockey defensemen should " I said
" They'll be alright now let's get going "Trevor said
We walked downstairs and I saw the boys all in their suits and ready to go z
" Let's go guys" I said and we wall walked out to the car
After the funeral ) we were all walking back to the cars to go back to our place for lunch when I realized parker wasn't following and I saw him watching the casket he buried and I quickly walked back and hugged him and he started crying
" Please please please tell me this isn't real tell me im gonna wake up and she's gonna have our game day breakfast ready with our stuff ready to go" he said as he leaned onto my shoulder
" I wish I could buddy" I said rubbing his back
I said this the first time she had cancer and I'm saying it again
