The next morning, my phone buzzed at five a.m. It was Saturday, the day of our engagement party, but I decided that after last night, I was going to start hitting the gym today. I turned my alarm off and looked behind me to Rooster. He was lightly snoring with his arm tossed over my waist, his chest against my back. I managed to slowly lift his arm from my waist and slipped from his grasp before gently laying his arm on the bed and pulling the covers up to his shoulder. He was still asleep so I grabbed some leggings and a baggy t-shirt from the dresser before I snuck into the bathroom to change. I wiped my face off with a rag and popped in my contacts before pulling my hair into a ponytail. Once I was done I quietly padded over to the closet and grabbed my tennis shoes and some socks, before making my way towards the bedroom door. "Mmm." Rooster moaned, shifting on the bed. I noticed his hand running over my side of the bed and searching for me. "Mags?" His gruff morning voice spoke out and I giggled to myself before slowly making my way over to his side of the bed. "Shh, go back to sleep.." I pushed some of his curls off his forehead. I sat next to him as I scratched his head, hoping to lull him back to sleep. But he grabbed my hand, pulling it to his cheek and nuzzling it before placing a kiss on my palm. "Why are you up and dressed?" He asked, his free hand gently grabbing my clothed thigh. "I'm going to the gym."

He yawned before nodding and sitting up. "Give me five minutes and I'll go with you." I shook my head, placing my hand on his chest. "No, you don't have to. Why don't you go back to sleep?" He shook his head, stretching his arms above his head. "No, I wanna go with you. Gotta keep other guys from staring at your ass." I giggled quietly, pressing a kiss to his forehead as I stood. "Okay. You get ready and I'll go downstairs and mix up the preworkout." He nodded. "Can you mix up some of the orange flavor for me?" I nodded and walked downstairs, Dahlia hot on my heels. I put my shoes on before mixing up our drinks, orange for Roo and fruit punch for me. I grabbed our water bottles and filled them as well, just in time for Rooster to meet me in the kitchen. "So why are we going to the gym this early?" He asked and I scoffed. "I tried to get you to go back to sleep, but you wanted to go." I said as I turned around to face him, his hands landing on the counter behind me, effectively caging me in. "But if you must know. I've decided that if I'm not happy with the way I look, I'm gonna do something about it." He hummed, laying his head on my shoulder. "What about your dress?" I chuckled, turning and kissing his temple. "It's adjustable, so I can lose a little weight and it'll still fit." He hummed before picking up his head and smiling at me. "If it makes you feel better, I think you look perfect." I hummed, gently pressing my lips to his. "Thank you, honey. Now take your drink and let's hit the road."

Bradley was still pretty tired, so I drove us onto base and over to the gym. Once there we were both awake from our pre-workout and immediately hit the weights. Rooster and I have been together for a while, but we don't usually work out together. It's usually Phoenix, Halo & I, but this was nice. "Spot me?" I asked as I laid back on the bench. He nodded, coming over and standing at the top of my head as I grabbed the bar. "I thought you could lift more than one twenty five." He asked as I pressed up on the bar. "I used to up until they took my wings. I haven't been able to work up past it since I'm out of work every time I turn around." He just smiled down at me as I completed my set. I set the bar on the rack and sat up, taking a deep breath. "We'll get you back to that, pretty girl." I smiled as he kissed my head. "Let's finish up so we can get breakfast and we need to run to the store for Penny's surprise party." He nodded and we finished our workout by 6:30. We were sweaty and disgusting but Bradley looked like a God in the early morning sun.

His arms glowed as the light bounced off them, his muscles shirt giving me a view of his intercostal muscles and his external obliques. "You coming honey?" I snapped out of my daze and nodded, rushing over to take his hand as we headed for the jeep. He was wide awake so after he buckled me in, he drove us to this little breakfast place near the store. "Alright, burgers and hot dogs." Rooster said as he rubbed his hands together. "You said we're doing BBQ." He looked at me, brows furrowed. "Yeah, and a barbecue includes burgers & hot dogs." I shook my head at him, my hands resting on my hips. "No, that is a cookout. At a barbecue, you cook a chuck roast and shred it for BBQ!" He huffed, pulling out his phone. "We'll just call Mav and see what Penny would prefer." I nodded, grabbing the buggy. "And ask him what kind of cake she likes. I'm gonna go grab stuff for the sides." I walked away, leaving him on the phone, and not five minutes later he came back. "Mav said BBQ." I nodded, grabbing some beans for baked beans. "And you explained the difference?" He nodded. "And Penny doesn't like cake."
