"Uno!"

"Ette, we're playing Go Fish."

"..oh."

Ann tiredly leaned on one of her hands, a short yawn running through her lips. The break dimension went through at least 16 checks in the last couple of hours, and according to the gathered data, there haven't been any recent incidents regarding Karma and/or any of the other glitches surrounding it, and that was without the pre-coded defences.

Ann and Ette were just taking a break in one of the kitchen's many tables (though, due to the newfound lack of space, there were significantly less than before. Neither had any doubts regarding the possibility of a lack of chairs and tables due to Time being the one in charge of the functionality of each room), spending their time by playing a not-so-traditional game of Go Fish, which the latter was most definitely winning, despite doing so the wrong way.

Ette huffed. "Well, I still won!"

"You played by the wrong rules," Ann shortly quipped back, which earned a groan from the girl afront. She simply smiled, not having a lot of energy in her to be smug. The thought of turning on the defences was nearly enough to lull her back to sleep; it was always a tiring process. Another yawn met her exhausted (as per usual, really) senses.

A ringing sound interrupted their banter, and in a matter of seconds, Ette sighed and stood up. "Well, I gotta watch the theater now. You gonna test the defences soon or what?"

To her disappointment, Ann visibly resisted the urge to groan.

Ette, though slightly amused, rolled her eyes. "Hey now, She said so! Be sure to do that, alright?" she instructed, which actually earned a small grunt from the girl below (Ann was now resting her forehead against the edge of the table).

"You gotta do it soon, not later, capiche?"

"Capiche," Ann huffed, giving Ette an exasperated thumbs up. "Anyway, don't you have a theater to watch over?" she reminded, not even lifting her head up from the table.

"Crap!" Ette immediately stood up, her chair rattling and falling to the floor with a noisy thud. She flinched, but nevertheless, her mind was still stuck with the mild worry that she might be late.

"Sorry!" Ette squeaked with an apologetic bow. "Could you pick that up for me? I-I gotta go, bye!"

"Bye," Ann mumbled back with a sigh.

"I'm not going back."

Well this is just fantastic.

"Victim," Author called out for what felt like the millionth time, "you have to go back. Look, Alan already left, why can't you? You know it's not my choice; the Vøid is not meant to have someone for so long. Don't you understand? You're being-"

"-'difficult'? Is that what you wanted to say?" Victim grumbled, glaring daggers at Author's direction. "Can you fucking blame me? My whole life was revealed and without warning! How the fuck do you expect me to take that!?"

Author frowned. "You're not the only one experiencing thi-"

"THEN WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE SUFFERING!?"

Author opened her mouth to retaliate, but as she came to her senses, she realized just how little control she had over the situation. Sure, she may have created Time, but she doesn't know what they're thinking 99% of the time. Being the creator doesn't automatically make her all-knowing, after all.
