Heavy breaths ached through your lungs, begging to be released.
Aizawa had you tied in his scarf, held against the dirt with your face smashed through the soil.
"You're getting better with your quirk (Y/N)-" He loosened the scarf letting the oxygen enter your lungs. "-but you can't let it slip, your quirk needs to constantly be on in battle."
The man walked over to you, lending his hand to you. "I'll get it under control, promise." You took it and slowly followed him through the house to the living room ridden with cats.
"Remember-" Aizawa plopped himself on the deep purple, velvet couch. "-your quirk is an extension of your body, not separate to you." You followed suit and sat on the opposing chair next to the couch with three cats sleeping over the spare side. "If you can master your quirk and train into a sixth sense then you will be an amazing hero, practically unstoppable." He have you a smile.
The two of you sat in content silence for a while, the TV playing through the background that Aizawa barely watched, more interested in his fury children next to him.
"About Kato." You caught his attention, focusing it all on you now. "Thank you Aizawa... I've never had my own pet. To be honest she's just perfect for me." You let out a breathy laugh. "She's erratic but can be so calm at times. And god she always wants a cuddle."
Aizawa smiled at you. It was his job to take you in and let you live a life you dreamed of, but now everything was out of pure adoration, not to complete a job.
He took note of the foods you liked over the past few weeks, studied your room to capture your true personality. He was starting to care deeply for you, something Aizawa rarely did.
"You don't need to thank me kid, I wanted to all of it for your sake, not my own personal gain." He bent forwards to peer past the wall and into the kitchen, Kato laying on the counter with half her body almost falling off it. "She's unique, just like you."
You giggled at his remark. "Honestly I didn't know an animal could have a quirk... I mean Nezu is some sort of animal but isn't that just his quirk, not an actual animal with a quirk?"
"Honestly, I don't know. Never cared enough to ask." He lent back in the soft pillows and stretched his arms round the back of his head. "But i think he is an animal. His actual quirk makes him very intelligent. Probably why he can talk."
"Sometimes he talks a little too much though." You tried your best to hold in your laughter, but when Aizawa let his slip, so did you.
You sat there with your guardian for an hour or so, growing closer and closer. He had been training you for the past three weeks, you only had two days till the entrance exam took place.
Soon enough Aizawa got up from the soft seat and went to make dinner once again. Boredom quickly took over you, so you went to the garden.
Through the time you spent in Aizawa's home you took care of it like he took care of you. Watering the almost rotten flowers and feeding them vitamin packets- for plants of course- till flowers bloomed and sprouted into their purest form. Even the few herbs he kept in a wooden crate grew extraordinary heights.
Time flew past you, feeling like just yesterday you were still locked away but now you stood in front of UA High's gates, walking up the pebble stone path to a bright new future.
You could feel your mother looking down on you, a smile spread over her face, your life long dream coming true. When you were a kid it was just a fantasy that everyone shared. Before quirks everyone dreamed of being an astronaut in the future and fantasized over comic book hero's, now it was a reality.
