Today has been very long awaited. After Ian found out that Amber was pregnant he took a DNA test immediately. I told him that he's most likely the father but he still insisted. Amber, Ian, Kia, and Amber's mom all sat at the table together while I sat in the living room. I didn't want to involve myself in it, but I made sure to listen.
"It's a match."Amber's mom said
I knew it.
"That's, great."Ian said
I could tell what face he was making just from hearing him.
"I'm gonna try to step up and help once the baby gets here."Ian said
"That's good, I'm glad to hear that."Amber's Mom said "I'll lend you my number so that we can stay in contact."She said
"Let me go get my phone."Ian said as he got up and walked over to where I was.
I got a glance at his face and it looked as if he was going to absolutely break. He then grabbed his phone and walked back over to the table. They exchanged numbers and everyone piled out of the house. Ian then just sat at the kitchen table silent.
"You okay?"I asked as I walked over to him and hugged him. It wasn't a tight hug, but it was very warm and meaningful.
"I'm not upset that I'm going to be a dad I just really wish it would've happened differently."Ian said "What if I'm not even a good dad?"He said
"Ian don't say that, you'll be a perfect dad."I said
"Thank you, for being here Ty..."He said as he kissed me.
The rest of the day continued and although Ian did cheer a little it was still very quiet and tense. I sat in Ian's bed upright by myself since Ian was in the shower. I was texting Michael about plans when a text message interrupted.
"Hey, I want to talk."
It was my dad.
