It was dawn. Ellie and Y/N were sitting next to each other, waiting.
A/N they slept in different rooms.
Y/N had his Ripper outfit in his bag. He was thinking about wearing it again. There was a knock at the door. Ellie said come in. The door opened and Tommy stepped in.
Ellie and Y/N paused for a bit before standing up and walking out. When they got outside Tommy said they were heading to the stables.

They got to the stables and Joel was there, saddling a horse.
Ellie: You came here to say goodbye or something?
Joel said he didn't.
Y/N: Then?
Joel: I came here to steal one of these horses and go.
Tommy said he would have gave Joel one.
Joel: I know. Anyway, that was thirty minutes ago and I guess. . .
Joel walked over to Y/N and Ellie and said they deserve a choice.
Joel: I still think you'd be better off with Tommy-
Ellie and Y/N: Let's go / come on.
Ellie gave Joel the bag of supplies she had.
Joel: Okay.
Ellie led the horse out. Tommy gave Y/N his AK and his pistol. Y/N put his pistol in it's holster. Tommy looked side to side as if to make sure no one was there. Tommy handed Y/N a mag that had armor piercing rounds.
Tommy: Only use it in a worst case. These are very hard to come by.
Y/N nodded and put in his backpack, he paused for a moment. He pulled out his brother's mask. He sighed and put it on.

Y/N mounted his horse and Ellie got on behind him. Joel asked for a general direction. Tommy said to head southeast until they hit I-25.
Tommy: It's right off the interstate. Shouldn't be hard to miss.
Joel nodded. The two hugged and patted each other's back. When they broke the hug, Tommy said there's a place for all three of them in Jackson.
Joel: Countin' on it.
Joel asked if he could borrow the rifle. Tommy gave it to him.
Joel: Cuz Maria took mine.
Tommy: I already said yes, Joel. Adios, big brother.
Joel looked at Y/N and saw him wearing Jack's mask.
Joel: Uh, I'm sorry about Jack.
Y/N: It's alright. Let's go.
Y/N answer quickly. Joel and Ellie knew it wasn't alright. -
Joel, Y/N and Ellie rode to the gate on their horses. A man opened the gate and the three rode out.

Ellie was using snow piles as target practice. Her aim was a bit off. Her excuse was that the targets were too small.
Joel said he made them bigger then he should've. Y/N reminded her to exhale before shooting.
Ellie: And I'm not flinching.
Y/N: Hmm.
Ellie: The rifle just sucks.
Y/N sighed got the rifle from her, Y/N took a deep breath in and slowly let it out.
Ellie: I'm telling you, it-
Y/N fired and hit the cloth target.
Ellie:. . . You dick.
Y/N smiled. He thought of a joke but didn't say it.
- They were riding along with Joel talking about how he was a contracter, after that, the grim topic of Y/N's parents was brought up.
Y/N: Our dad, David, was a good man once, then he got hit with some kind of chemical weapon. Thing's went down hill from there. My mom, Lori, was always crazy though.
Ellie who was hugging Y/N so she wouldn't fall off the horse mentioned how Y/N and Jack killed them.
Y/N: We did, I think. As time passes I wonder if he is dead. I know Lori is. But I can't be sure if we finished David. But enough of that.

Riding through the snow, Ellie was trying to figure out football.
Ellie: So, if you mess up your fourth down, then you give the ball to the other team?
Joel: Right. It's called a "turnover".
Ellie: Turnover. But if you make it to ten yards, then you're back to first down? So, basically just moving in one direction.
Joel: Basically. But violent. Ask Y/N, he played it with the Fireflies.
Ellie rested her chin on Y/N's shoulder and looked at him.
Y/N: The most common injury is a dislocated shoulder and a knee injury.
They saw I-25.
Joel: How 'bout that? Made it in five days.
Ellie: Easy days. I don't know what Tommy was so afraid of.
Y/N: We may find out.
Ellie tried her best to mimic Y/N's voice.
Ellie: "We may find out".
Joel looked at her and tried not to laugh.
Y/N smiled a bit.
Ellie: "The Ripperrrr".

They made it to the university. Who knows what awaits them?
