Chapter 3

The next day when i arrived to school early in the morning, I met up with Mia in our usual hanging spot. I told her about what happened last night with miles. She thought it was funny how he accidentally walked in my bedroom. It made me laugh just remembering his shocking expression. As we continue to talk Mia then asks me about Emerson. I haven't seen Emerson in about 3 days i said to Mia. Mia looks at me in shocked and says " no way, that's crazy" I nodded. I got worried because he hasn't posted anything on social media, I wonder what happened. I hope he's okay I thought to myself. The bell rang and we headed back to our classroom. Mia was coming over after school so i was looking forward to that. As school was over for the day Mia and i ran to the bus and got in, the school bus was full today but thankfully there was a seat for us to sit. As we stat down we continue chatting until we arrived to my bus stop. As we got there we got off the school bus and walked home.

We continue to walk until we reach my house and walked inside. My Mother was already in the kitchen cooking, jay was in his room with his friends, as for Asher he stayed at my grandmas to play with our cousins. My father wasn't home yet he was still at work. Mia and hi said hi to my mom and walked straight to my room closing the door behind us. As we were chatting we hear the boys coming out of the room.i think there going outside i say. Mia looks at me and says " come lets go ' while pulling my arm heading outside as well. Once we were outside we sat in the front porch and watched the guys play basketball. as i was about to look at them, i then see Emerson and miles staring at me. I look at them back and looked down. Well this is awkward I thought to myself. Mia then asks me what's wrong so I tell her that both are here. As i was about to see the boys playing i see miles right next to my brother looking and smiling at me, I smiled back. As i was about to look the other way i then see Emerson staring at me serious and then looks back at miles.

I had a bad feeling from Emerson reaction but hey he has a  girlfriend and he kept coming back to me whenever he had problems with her. I got tired of being emotionally use. Emerson didn't even last long, he kept making faces at miles and left right away home.  After Emerson left miles brought his cousin Jayden along. I noticed that miles kept looking at me from afar. I told Mia about it and made me said hi to him so I wave at him and he waved back. As we got tired of being outside, Mia and i decided to chill in the living. We were laying on the floor playing with her bee pillow pet. As we were listening to country music miles walks in and Mia hits me on the face with the pillow. He just laughs and tells Mia to be nice to me. I stick my tongue at her and laugh. Miles then asked me how was my day and I told him it was good. He then smiled and said I'm glad to hear that. The three of us continued to talk but then Bryan came inside letting miles know that they had to leave so he said bye to us and left.

After a few more hours Mia left home, her mom picked her up. As i was about to head to my room I receive a message on facebook. I went to check who the message was from and it turned out that it was miles. As we were talking we got to know more things about each other. I felt like we clicked really well. He was too fun to talk to. Later in the conversation he asked me if I was close to Emerson and I said to him not like before. Miles then replied "well he's a fool for not being grateful to have an amazing girl like you."As I read his message I blushed. We continue to talk more about other stuff until it was time to go. He wished me a goodnight and so did I. Once again I felt my heart pounding again like it did with Emerson.

The next day at school, I told Mia about miles and i late conversation on messenger . She couldn't believe it, she kept teasing me about me starting to like miles. I couldn't stop smiling, that's when I realized I do in fact like miles. As the days went by every time miles would see me at school or at home he would look happy seeing me, he would always give me hugs whenever he came over or even at school. He began teasing me and playing around with me. Until one day Mia and i were passing by a outside hallway and as we were walking closer we both saw miles kissing a girl. Seeing them kiss and knowing all this time he just didn't see me that way only as a friend hurt me so much. Mia looked at me worried seeing me react badly to them. I ran inside a building connected to the outside hallway and paced around the inside  hallway, I couldn't believe this. I felt my heart tore apart into millions of pieces. Mia ran after me, she hugged me tightly. I'm so sorry Kaliyah he's just not the one says Mia. I broke the hug and smile at mia. It's okay mia I'll be okay don't worry I say smiling weakly at her.

The bell rang  to start our next class, i walked mia to her class since it was in the same building and headed back to mine. as i was about to walk out the building I then see  miles coming to me smiling. I quickly walked fast and ran to my classroom, as i was trying to run away I heard him calling my name. As I walked inside my classroom and looked through the window he was walking back to a different building.  I couldn't concentrate during class, my mind kept replaying the images of them kissing hurt even more. After class was done, I wasn't in the mood for nothing, I stayed quiet during all my classes which got Mia worried. I wasn't acting like myself.

After the day was over, Mia invited me to watch her older sister basketball game to keep me distracted. Once the game began everyone was cheering for the girls. I screamed Mia's sister name cheering for her. She smiled and continue playing. As we were all watching the game. I then see miles with his new girlfriend. I immediately told Mia and Mia turned to look to their direction. Just ignore them Kaliyah your too Good for him Mia says. I smiled at Mia and continue watching the game. After the game ended we went to look for Mias sister, she was talking to her friends as she waves bye to them. We began to walk to Mia's moms car. As i was about to get inside the car, i get a message from miles. Hey there i saw you at the game,why didn't you say hi to me. I look at the message while getting inside the car. As i put my seatbelt on I message him back. " oh is that so? I didn't wanted to make your girlfriend upset if i went up to you to say hi. " i say. About 5 minutes he replies back "it's fine, she won't get upset she knows were friends. As I read it i nodded and replied, " yeah, we're just friends. Man not again with the friend zone. I showed the messages to Mia and she looked at me. Wow he did friend zone you girl. I nodded and said, yeah i guess he did. My heart ache badly but its time to move on again. Mias mom took us out to eat and afterwards she took me home. As i get home i let my parents know that i arrived and went straight to my room and fell asleep with tears in my eyes.
