Sloane held her arms out, bracing for impact with the quickly approaching wall. As soon as she collided and pushed off, she found herself floating above the bed.

"Uh, Quinn,"

She spoke to the A.I. not knowing who else to call out for since everyone else was off fighting the threat on the ship.

"Yes, Sloane?"

"Exactly how does a Navari stop floating and flying into things?"

"Well, for starters, they don't drink the elixir unless they're getting ready for—"

"I know. I know. Something strenuous. I get it. How do I get down from here?"

"Again, a Navarian who consumes the elixir—"

"Quinn!" She interrupted the A.I. system. "I just want to know specifics right now!"

Quinn muttered something in a language Sloane couldn't understand.

"Ms. White," Quinn stated quite sternly. "I am trying to help you. It's no wonder why you've gotten yourself into this mess. You don't listen to anything anyone is trying to tell you!"

"Excuse me? I've been asking questions all damn day, and no one will answer me!"

"Well, I have been trying to answer, you won't allow it!"

Am I really arguing with an artificial intelligence program?

Hovering over the bed, she waved her hands frantically in hopes she could weigh herself down enough to get her feet on the ground.

Before she responded to Quinn, the door to the room slid open.

Lorcan stood with another Navari in shock at seeing his sister hovering above his bed.

The person next to him said something and laughed, causing Lorcan to chuckle and shake his head.

"A little help?" Sloane asked, annoyed.

Lorcan looked around and found the elixir and held it up with a raised brow.

"Yeah. I drank some. I didn't know."

"Who just goes into someone's room and starts going through their things? Helping themselves to anything?" He asked, walking to the machine she got the elixir from and selected another drink.

"Sir, I've tried explaining to her what it was, but she didn't give me a chance to finish." Quinn chimed in.

Lorcan shook his head in amusement.
