the person's grip on you tightened. you couldn't see their face since they grabbed you from behind

you stomped on their foot, digging your heel into it as hard as you could and attempted to get away.

unfortunately, it didn't cause their grip to loosen and instead they just swung you around so that you were facing them.

he was a man big in stature. he looked like any other guy, except his face was stern.

"i have a group of twenty armed men waiting for my command to charge in here and arrest your boyfriend and his friends. do something like that again and i'll send you with them." he stated harshly.

"i don't know what you're talking about. let go of me you creep!"

"don't play dumb, y/n l/n."

you clenched your jaw as you quickly tried to think of how to respond.

"i don't know what the hell you're talking about. my name is maia."

he laughed.

"that trick won't work on me since maia's the one who came to me."

"what are you talking about?" you felt yourself beginning to feel agitated. you didn't know how you were going to get away from this man and warn sanzu.

"i'm with the japanese government. we were given the rights to come onto american soil to take down the worst criminal organization, bonten. your friend maia gave us all the information we needed with the agreement that you would be kept safe."

"fuck off. that bitch is crazy- she's just jealous that i went on a trip to vegas without her so she's making up stories to cause trouble."

"really? because i saw you and your boyfriend walk in here."

you tried to keep a straight face but you knew it was useless. he knew who you were and that sanzu was here.

"97 known counts of murder, armed robbery, embezzlement, fraud, arson, the list goes on. that is what your boyfriend will be charged with. he'll be in prison for life and so will you for obstruction of justice and aiding in criminal activity. unless, you decide to help us."

"help you how?"

he smiled and handed you a small device.

"wear this in your ear and get your boyfriend to admit to his crimes."

you gripped the device tightly.

you knew they didn't have enough evidence to bring bonten down. these were the people that played that cheap banking trick to try and get them to turn themselves in.

so you did the one thing you could think of to stall for time.

"fine." you said through clenched teeth and quickly turned away, disappearing from his sight into the crowd.

instead of walking back to where sanzu was, you went to the bathroom.

your plan was to text sanzu and warn him to get out of there but as you entered the stall , you realized you left your purse and phone with him.

you paced around in circles as you tried to think of what to do.

finally, you threw the device in the toilet, flushing it.

you ran out of the bathroom and tried to make your way to where sanzu was.

your eyes darted to where you guys were sitting. you were surprised to see that it was empty.

you quickly turned back and fourth, searching for sanzu. you were worried that they might've already gotten to him.

your thoughts were cut short by the sound of gunshots. screams erupted and you instinctively covered your ears.

your eyes travelled across the room to the source of the commotion.

sanzu was standing atop a table with his gun pointed at the ceiling.

"nobody fucking leaves until i find my girlfriend. if anything bad happened to her , everyone here will die."

you physically face palmed and let out a sigh.

your effort to try and get him out of there quietly was pointless. he just blew his own cover.

"set your gun down and put your hands in the air!" the man that grabbed you earlier spoke loudly as he pointed a gun at sanzu.

you pushed through the crowd of frantic people.

your ears were ringing as you watched sanzu point his gun at the man.

your eyes widened as you saw a man near you raise his gun to point at sanzu. it was another undercover cop.

as you watched him click the safety off you yelled across the room.

"haru!"

his eyes met yours and his face looked relieved until he saw your worried expression.

there wasn't enough time to warn him as the man next to you pulled the trigger.
