"Hey, I found him; he's in the garden," Wilhelm shouted.
Mikail looked towards him. Noril and Ray were soon next to him. They stared in awe at the mana around Mikail.
"That aura around him. It's so dense for a five year old little boy. His mana is on par with archmages in the magic tower," Noril thought.
"Mikail, you can use magic," Noril asked.
"Oh shit, I didn't want them to know just yet," Mikail thought.
Mikail stopped using magic and returned to the ground.
"Are you mad," Mikail asked while he held his arm and began shaking.
"He looks scared," Wilhelm thought.
"Why is he shaking." Noril thought.
"I'm not mad, and the fact you can use magic ,that doesn't matter right now, Mikail. You weren't shown where you would be sleeping," Noril said before walking over to him.
He picked him up and looked at him.
"If you come to eat some food, I'll show you where you will be sleeping," Noril said with a smile.
"Fine, I'll eat. But I can't eat much; I don't want to die. I've been starved too much. If you overfeed me, I'll die," Mikail said.
"Fine, still to think you were able to use magic. It's quite amazing."
"Why do you have to carry me?"
"Because you're pretty injured. How did you get all those scars," Ray asked, looking angry.
"The owners of the orphanage would hit me every time I turned in their direction. It got to the point where I almost died just before you got there."
"Dad, I want those bastards arrested," Wilhelm shouted.
"Huh," Mikail thought as he looked shocked.
"Wilhelm, that's quite surprising, considering that you don't like Mikail," Noril asked.
"Wait, this might be good if they get arrested or killed along with their bastard child. I won't have to become a murderer to get him off my back," he thought.
"I may not like him, but that doesn't give others the right to abuse children to the point where they mature so much they have barely any emotion," Wilhelm shouted.
"Ah, Mikail in the book wasn't emotionless. In fact, he was pretty feral and wild towards Noril and the princes. He ran away from them and tried to flee the estate many times, but since the duke paid a large sum of coinage, the duke wasn't allowing him to leave that easily. In my world, I rarely showed my emotions on the outside, but my emotions on the inside were fine. When I did show emotion, it was always anger. I had bad anger management issues. When my employees kept dumping their work on me, I wanted to read the new chapter of 'The Scattered and tattered bloodline.' That was the title of the web novel I am trapped in," he thought.
"I'm just bad at expressing my emotions," Mikail said.
"We're going to send some guards to the orphanage, and I will strip them of their titles and arrest them," Noril said with a smirk.
Mikail eyes widened.
"I didn't think that would be that easy," Mikail thought.
Mikail then had a dark expression as he thought about Vilard.
"There's also one more pest, that boy that was calling Mikail a toy," Noril said before looking at Mikail.
"Duke, the son of the Baron and Baroness Raquerez, he's obsessive with anything he has an interest in. He was given anything he wanted, including the right to abuse me and treat me lower than a dog," Mikail said.
Ray and Wilhelm's faces darkened as they both had terrifying expressions.
"But you shouldn't kill him based on the teachings of the parent. You should have him sent far away and banned from the country," Mikail said with an emotionless expression.
"Alright, if I do this, will you finally trust me a bit," Noril asked.
Mikail looked up at Noril.
"Duke, I already trust you since you took me away from that place. I don't understand why you chose me out of those crying children. You could have had a normal child instead of adopting me," he said while turning his head away.
"What are you talking about? I chose you because you were the only one not afraid of me. You were also the cutest one there," Noril said.
"What the fuck," Mikail thought.
"Also, I told you to call me Dad, not the Duke."
"But I'm not ready to call you that," Mikail said with a sigh.
Noril lifted him into the air. Mikail looked surprised.
"Call me Dad, or I won't let you down."
"Alright, Dad, put me down," Mikail shouted while blushing.
"What the hell? Noril wasn't like this in the story, and he was more cold-hearted and noble. This one gets angry too easily. He acts too childish, although, in the book, he did adore cute things. Mikail is adorable if you forget about his craziness," Mikail thought.
As Noril pulled him back into his arms and smiled.
"So cute," Noril thought
"Dad, you said
After a while...
Mikail sighed as he lay on his bed in his large room. There were many toys around him. Noril sat on the side of the bed.
"I rather have some books instead," Mikail said.
"Oh, do you want me to buy you some children's books," Noril asked.
"I would rather have literature," Mikail said.
"Literature?"
"Yeah, I don't enjoy children's books."
"Aren't you a child?"
"Yeah, but."
"I want to give you things that you weren't able to have when you were younger," Noril said with a smile.
"Why?"
"Because you're my adorable son."
Mikail sighed before he started falling asleep.
"My stomach is so full; I can't help but feel tired. Curse this damn underfed body," Mikail thought.
He closed his eyes, and Noril smiled.
"Looks like he finally fell asleep," Noril said, putting his hand on his head.
"He looks so much like my younger brother did at his age. I miss my brother. This is definitely his son. He probably died with his lover, meaning Mikail is the only thing I have left from him," Noril thought.
"Kailan, was your love more important than me, your older brother," he said.
The next morning...
Noril had fallen asleep next to Mikail. Mikail's eyes widened as he saw Noril in his regular clothes still.
"Why is Noril asleep next to me," Mikail thought as he sat up.
Mikail looked at him again.
"Noril was someone in the book with insomnia. Whenever Mikail would walk around the palace, Noril was awake to talk with him. If I'm going to survive as Mikail, I need to watch out for a few things, like the assassination attempt on the first prince of the empire, Julian Mathews, during Mikail's first ball. Mikail's first experience at a ball is in the winter, just before his birthday. The main thing to worry about is when the hero arrives, and the hero is ruthless against Mikail. Mikail is seen as a dark soul in their eyes, and they want to purge him. I also need to be careful around the high priest and saintess," he thought.
Ray had opened the door and saw that his father was asleep.
"This is the first time I've seen him sound asleep."
"Your Highness."
"Hey, what happened to calling me Brother Ray?"
"Brother Ray, so Dad doesn't really sleep that much," Mikail asked.
"Yeah, he doesn't. He's always up late into the night. It's nice to see him relaxed. He always has his guard up, and it's hard to communicate with him sometimes," Ray said with a smile.
"Brother Ray, when do you think he'll wake up," Mikail asked as he looked up at Ray.
Ray covered his mouth.
"So cute," Ray thought.
"He'll wake up soon. He needs to go to a meeting."
"Your majesty," someone shouted before running into Mikail's room.
It was his aid and advisor, Renold O'Neal. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was the viscount of a place called Miriam. Mikail knew who Renold was and immediately felt afraid. In the story, Renold is the main one who teamed up with Wilhelm to abuse Mikail. Noril woke up and sat up. Mikail immediately hid behind him.
"Mikail what's wrong?'
"I don't know him," Mikail said.
"Hey, what did you do to Mikail, Renold," Noril shouted.
"I didn't do anything, your Majesty," Renold shouted.
"Mikail is my son. Make sure to treat him as you would Wilhelm and Ray. Mikail, are you alright?"
Mikail nodded. Renold looked at Mikail.
"Why does this child have such empty eyes," Renold thought.
"Mikail, this is the most trustworthy friend in my circle."
"He is," Mikail thought as he looked towards him.
"My name is Renold O'Neal. I'm the Viscount of Miriam. Nice to meet you," Renold said with a fake smile.
"That guy has a fake smile. Are you sure I can trust him," Mikail asked?
