"Hey cutie. You're going to help me out too? How kind of you. Don't hesitate to come to me if you need anything." said Lisa.
After I parted ways with Amber I decided to help Lisa next. I still wasn't ready to face Kaeya and I just needed some more time to collect myself before helping him out.
"What kind of things do librarians do?" I asked.
"Good question. Basically, things other than that which require brawn... or brains." she answered.
"So... what does that leave?" asked Paimon.
"Why would a librarian be at the ruins...?" I asked.
"Hmm... good question. Well, because Jean trusts me. So you should as well."
As if on cue the wind got stronger before we got into the temple.
"Even standing out here, the disturbance of the elemental flow inside is making me uncomfortable. Let's get this temple back to its normal state, so I can be a little less... tense."
...
The interior of this temple was definitely a lot more gloomy and more dark than the first. There were grey stone structures everywhere and it looked like the inside was covered with fog. The atmosphere of this place almost unsettled me. I guess Paimon felt scared too as I felt her hide behind me. I even hid behind Lisa.
"Scared, cutie? Don't worry I'll keep you safe... I guess I'll give this a go." She led the way and we saw a building that was well far enough away from us.
"I knew it. There is a strong elemental energy coming from deep within the temple. Paimon, are you able to float across?" asked Lisa.
"Can't do much even if she does." she said.
"Good point. We'd better start looking for a way to get up there then." said Lisa.
When we got to the next room we were greeted by a large Pyro slime. I was about to take care of it until Lisa decided to. She conjured some sort of lightning power and zapped the slime away. It even exploded after it was zapped.
"Electro powers do come in handy in times like these." she giggled.
When we entered the next room we saw monuments like the one I saw before.
"It's an Electro Monument. No wonder. Let me try to activate it with a bit of Electro power. Stand back, sweeties."
"But I can help fight." I said.
"I appreciate the sentiment to defend me from danger but I can handle it from here. Oh, and stay away from the water."
I was confused as to why she wanted me to stay away from the water but I did as she said. We waited on the other side waiting for the door to be opened. When Lisa activated the monument enemies appeared. Lisa called a great, big Electro attack towards the water and the realization hit me like a ton of bricks when I wondered why she wanted me away from the water.
"When it comes to wet enemies, I've got them covered." she said.
The door opened when the enemies were dealt with. It was smooth sailing from here out. There were no more enemies to deal with and the place we needed to get to was right in front of us. But along the way I got curious of the gem she was wearing and noticed that Jean, Kaeya, and Amber had the exact same gems like her but in different colors. So I had to ask.
"Oh, you want to know about this gem? You're kidding... You're seriously asking? This is a Vision. It's used by the chosen to draw on elemental powers. In terms of mysticism, I suppose you could call it a 'magical lightning rod'."
"Interesting... I've never seen one before." I said.
"What... You've never seen a Vision? Just where exactly are you from...? Are you a hilichurl with some level of reasonable intelligence? No, I doubt it. After all, hilichurls aren't exactly known for their smarts. And you, you'd more or less qualify to be a magister's apprentice."
I don't know if I should be offended or not but for safety reasons I remained silent. When we finally made it to the building we saw another crystal identical to the one I saw before.
"Break it and we can head home and relax. The thought of putting my feet up and relaxing has me all fired up!"
I broke the crystal like last time.
"Dragon of the East, Lion of the South, Wolf of the North, Falcon of the West... They are the Four Winds of Mondstadt, affiliated with Barbatos, the God of Anemo. The Dragon of the East, Stormterror - its real name, is Dvalin."
Dvalin, I like that name, it sounds nicer than Stormterror. I think I'll just stick to calling him Dvalin.
"Though most in Mondstadt seem to have forgotten that in all this 'Stormterror' business. So now you know why Dvalin is only able to channel three of the Four Winds' power. Because it has been consuming itself from the very beginning."
"Why would it go to such lengths?" I asked.
"Because of hatred, I presume."
"Hatred...?" asked Paimon.
"Hatred for Mondstadt. Hatred drove it to become something powerful than the wind itself - to become Stormterror."
"But why would one of The Four Winds... Hate the city it was supposed to protect?" asked Paimon.
"As a child of Mondstadt, it's something that's really hard to say aloud. Here, take this. It's a very old story from more than a century ago."
Lisa gave me an old book called Breeze Amidst the Forest Supplement: The Dragon Tome.
As we left I couldn't stop thinking about what Lisa said. About how Dvalin hates Mondstadt. I couldn't believe it or more specifically I didn't want to believe it. I remember seeing how gentle it was with the boy I saw. I thought to myself how could something that appears to be huge and terrifying be so kind and gentle at the same time. Something didn't feel right. I just had to get to the bottom of this.
