The day had started as it always did, Lucy waking up a little past 7 to the smell of George working in the kitchen to make them a breakfast that would surely be slightly cold by the time Lockwood emerged from upstairs and into the kitchen. George swore it took him longer in the morning to get downstairs despite usually being awake before the both of them; was because he needed all the time he could get to fix his hair into the respectable style he wore everyday, Lucy would chuckle and agree but she couldn't help but wonder why he didn't sleep in more as every morning the circles under his eyes seemed to get darker as days flew by. His energy never wavered a bit despite Lucy's worries he acted the same poised Lockwood he always was, except some days he would get really antsy almost anxious and George would exchange a short conversation with Lockwood and Lockwood would retreat to the basement to tirelessly rapier train well into the night.

This morning wasn't any different as she came down the stairs and popped into the kitchen the smell of bacon, eggs, and spices filled the house as George stood in front of the stove wearing his light pink apron with the red polka dots stirring the eggs the plate of steaming bacon sat on the table in the center.

"Morning George, it smells wonderful."

Lucy said as she sat down at the table taking a piece of bacon and biting into it regretting it as it burned her tongue.

"They're hot I just got them out of the pan, don't touch the eggs."

George put a fresh hot plate off eggs in-front of her before adding.

"Goodmorning to you too."

He rolled his eyes at her as she ate the burning bacon but had the small fond grin he only saved for her and Lockwood. To her surprise she heard the light but quick footsteps of Lockwood bounding down the stairs, Lockwood was usually dead silent in his movements and very rarely does George and Lucy know when he's approaching. Soon after the footsteps stoped as he came into the kitchen gracefully swooping down to press a small kiss to Lucy's forehead before reaching to put a piece of bacon into his mouth while also with his bacon free hand ruffled George's hair before he sat into a chair speaking around the bacon.

"Morning you two! George you always make a breakfast to look forward to."
Lockwood said a wide smile on his face restless energy radiating off his body and that could only mean one thing.

"You found an interesting job didn't you?"
George asked as he shook his head putting his hair back in place more then used to Lockwood's random displays of affection and was able to brush it off quickly, but Lucy wasn't able to brush off his gestures so easy; her feelings for him making it hard to just brush off the quick kisses on her head or the longer hugs that he would give.

"The bacons hot."

Was Lucy's quick and delayed response her brain finally catching up to the moment happening before her. Lockwood just looked at her and George with a small laugh.

"Yes and yes, thank you Lucy the bacon is quite warm."
Lockwood said as he looked at her for the last part taking another bite before turning his body towards George.

"This case can finally get our agency the attention it deserves Georgie, there are occurrences and murders starting in the woods that surround a small town a bit from here but-there have been reports of type 2s and type 4s all in the woods. The woods are called Brekkerborn because the town was abandoned before people decided to restore it building new houses and even cutting down trees in the surrounding forest-"

"Number one rule in nature is never disturb the old woods."
George interrupted Lockwood's ramble earning a covered chuckle from Lucy and a pointed look from Lockwood.

"As I was saying George it was fine until after the renovation children started to see type ones or apparitions in the new houses built by the woods and were the trees were cut down but he was chalked up to them disturbing their resting places until animals, and even small children started to go missing...a witch who lived in the town heard a child scream and looked out just in time to see a type 4 take it into the woods. And ever since then there have even been attacks at night in the town, I got a call from the owner of the townhouse and asked for us specifically to help with this case."

Lockwood finally finished talking taking in the faces of his friends.

"I thought George did the research."

Lucy added as George just looked at Lockwood like he just won the lottery.

"I never thought I'd see the day."

George said in fake astonishment as Lockwood scoffed tossing a piece of bacon at Lucy.

"Quit it! I got us a big case...we need it if we want to remain an independent agency especially because Barnes is on my ass after Mrs Hope's house and with Fittes sending supervisors to every agency, we can't loose the house and especially not our agency."

Lockwood added giving a quick look around the kitchen before looking at Lucy and George as they shared a glance at each other.

"I'll hit the archives when does the townhouse owner want us there?"
George said as he took a bite of his eggs.

"As soon as possible, his name
Is Mr. Rietveld, Lucy want to pack our kit? I'll get somethings from satchels."

Lockwood said as he slid his plate into the sink, Lucy wondered when during his speech about this case did he have time to eat his food?

"Alright, should we bring the skull?"

The skull was the ghost jar George had stolen from Fittes when he was fired, able to communicate with Lucy it had helped on more cases than one but was also an insufferable prick. Lockwood made a face as she mentioned the skull and shrugged.

"I don't want anything attracting type 4s and we don't know if there are type 5s, if they get ahold of a ghost jar there's no knowing what they would do with it."
Lockwood said heading out of the kitchen before turning to look at Lucy.

"Plus it makes disgusting faces at me."

And with that Lockwood exited the kitchen heading out the door taking his rapier on his way out. Lucy sat contently in the kitchen finishing her breakfast before making her way to the basement to stock their kit with everything they needed and more, it was a hotter day in London causing the sun to shine through every nook and cranny in the house. She briefly thought that if any vampires ever came in their house they would definitely get a painful welcome, the house always looked alive and bright on sunny days, the sun lighting up everything in the house; even the skull jar didn't make as many obscene gestures on sunny days.

About a slow hour later of Lucy taking her time to pack the kit bags making sure they had everything stocked. Chains, silver, iron, filings, salt bombs, magnesium flares, Greek fire, and most importantly; biscuits.
