It's 4 in the morning and Ryuu is still awake as she's editing videos for her upcoming vlog. She had slept the whole day so she couldn't fall asleep that night. Jungkook, on the other hand is deep in his sleep, or so she thought.

Ryuu was sitting on her work chair when someone suddenly picked her up. It's Jungkook. He was in fact, not sleeping since he felt anxious. He had picked her up before sitting on the chair himself and placing Ryuu on top. He rested his chin on her shoulder and breathed softly, knowing that Ryuu hated how people breathe so loudly. "I thought you were sleeping? Aren't you tired, babe?"

Jungkook hummed, his eyes not opening as he's super tired but couldn't fall asleep no matter what. "I wanted to go live because I was anxious so that I can talk to ARMY and fall asleep but I don't want the managers to nag at me again." Ryuu chuckled. The last time he slept while going live, he had to listen to the managers nag to him for a full hour. "Why are you feeling anxious? Wanna talk about it?"

Ryuu slides one side of her headphone so that she can hear Jungkook's voice better. Her hands are still busy editing but her ears are ready to listen to what her lover have to say. "I don't know, precious. It's like my mind is so full of thoughts and I can't get them out. I feel like I have lots of things I need to do but I don't want to move. It's complicated." Silently, Ryuu saved the progress she had made and and switched off the computer before getting off Jungkook.

"Wanna watch a movie together? Get your mind off all those worries of yours." She gently took his hand and lead him into the living room. Since the couch that they have is huge, they both can lie on it and not feel like one person is going to fall. She sat on the end of the couch and patted her thighs. "It's yours." She said it with a smile and Jungkook swear his heart skipped a beat. Without wasting any time, he laid his head on her lap while she scrolls through the lists of movies as her other hand plays with Jungkook's soft locks.

Maybe it's the touch of the person he truly love and feel safe with or it's the fact that he can show his vulnerable side to her without feeling like being judged, but even before the movie started playing, he had already fallen asleep. Little snores escaped from between his lips, making Ryuu smile to herself. Recently, Jungkook have been having issues falling asleep but he refuses to bother Ryuu as she's a light sleeper herself and he would hate himself to bother her when she's resting.

So, every time he couldn't sleep, he would watch movies in the living room with a low volume to not wake Ryuu up but around 7 in the morning before Ryuu wakes up, he would gently climb into bed and closes his eyes to pretend that he's been sleeping the whole night. However, Ryuu knows it all. She knows how he was never asleep but never brought the topic up to him.

The editing was just an excuse to see if Jungkook would finally let her know what's on his mind that's causing him unable to fall asleep and it worked. She was glad that he trusted her enough to show his vulnerable side to her. Before, Jungkook always thought that he should be the strong one in the relationship, emotionally and physically but after a few years, Ryuu made him realise that showing emotions and being vulnerable with her is totally fine and normal.

"You're such a cutie, Jeon Jungkook. How could I ever not be in love with you?"

Ryuu closes her eyes and she too, went to sleep.

The next morning, Jungkook finally woke up feeling better after a good night sleep. He rubs his eyes with the back of his hand before opening them and was greeted with the sight of the love of his life sleeping. Knowing that he have someone to depend on made him smile. He rested his head on one of his hand while the other went to gently caress Ryuu's soft features. He feel giddy inside because Ryuu is the one and only and he wanted a future with her when things are stable.

Feeling the soft, feathery warmth, Ryuu woke up with a smile. "Good morning, precious." He greeted, making her smile even bigger. She hummed and scoots closer to Jungkook before hugging his waist. "Morning, love. How was your sleep?"

Jungkook sighed in content. "Thanks to a particular someone, I slept like a baby. You're truly an angel, precious. What would I do without you?" She chuckled at the sudden confession. Jungkook gently patted Ryuu's back. "You will do well on your own, love. But for now, let's not think about that. I wanna sleep some more. I want to sleep with you a little bit more before I have to get going with my life."

He chuckled and kissed the top of her head before pulling her closer to him as if they're not already on top of each other. "Yeah. Let's sleep some more. Just wanted you to know that I love you a lot, precious. Like, so much."

She nodded her head. "I love you too. So so so so much."

ps: I feel so lovesick while writing this even though I'm super single 😭. Btw, this chapter is inspired by Jungkook's recent live where he went live because he is anxious and can't fall asleep.
