𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙯𝙚𝙧𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙬'𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙧as she walked through a meadow filled with patches of long grass. The sun dappled the forest floor with light as it sifted through the leafy branches overhead. Indigopaw relished the warmth but knew she wasn't in her territory. It was too warm, and it didn't resemble GroveClan's land at all.
The sound of paws rustling the grass made Indigopaw turn her attention to a pretty tortoiseshell she-cat. Indigopaw tilted her head, unsure who this she-cat was. She had never seen her before, and stars glistened where she walked. Am I in StarClan? A twinge of unease crept over Indigopaw.
Suddenly, the warm breeze that felt so soothing along Indigopaw's coat switched, bringing a cold chill that nipped at Indigopaw's bones. She shuddered. She couldn't help feeling that something was off. Indigopaw watched as the tortoiseshell she-cat approached, hopping onto a nearby rock.
"Hello, young one," she murmured, her voice silky like honey.
Indigopaw stared at her. "Er...where am I?"
The tortoiseshell she-cat let out a short purr before beckoning Indigopaw to follow her. Indigopaw was about to protest, but the graceful she-cat was already bounding away. Indigopaw shrugged, hurrying after her. She desperately tried to keep up, hopping over fallen logs, skipping across narrow streams, and trying not to lose her when she abruptly changed direction.
After what seemed like moons, Indigopaw finally skidded to a halt beside her. Panting heavily, she looked around. Trees dotted the landscape all around her, and a pond lay in front of her, its surface as still as the clouds above. Indigopaw's neck fur rose. The breeze from before had abruptly stopped, and the clouds darkened overhead.
"Where am I? Who are you?" Indigopaw demanded, turning on the quiet she-cat.
"It's alright. Please, watch," she meowed in the same silky voice, angling her ears to the pond's surface.
Indigopaw could feel her ears getting hot with anger, but she pushed it away as she stepped toward the pond. The sound of shifting pebbles underneath her paws filled the eerily quiet air as she leaned over the pool's edge to look into its depths.
It was dark, almost black. Indigopaw twitched her ears, unimpressed. Who was this she-cat, and why wasn't she sharing any information with her? Indigopaw continued to watch. She perked her ears, gazing intently at the surface of the pond as it began to bubble. Indigopaw rolled her eyes. Was this all the she-cat wanted to show her?
