:.Chapter 5.:

<3 days before Soren has to go back into the jail>
Soren and Lucid were sitting watching everyone going about their day. Soren spoke up.
"One day, I'm going to go to the Overworld. And I'm going to take you with me."
Lucid looked at the small child beside him. "Soren, dear boy, the portalkeepers wouldn't accept me by that time. I'd be 45 by then as you'll have to be an adult to take me with you."
"Well, their silly. I think that 70 is old."
"70?"
"Yes!"
Lucid smiled. "Same here. But, King Minos and his family are the only ones allowed to come and go as they wish."
"Well that sucks."
Lucid was quiet for awhile. "Remember what I've taught you about healing, won't you?" He asked.
Soren nodded. "If course!"
"Your a good lad. The world is lucky to have you."
"But.... So many have been unkind to me."
"Every child deserves a world but not every world deserves a child."
"What does that mean?"
"It means that, no matter what, you deserve everything. But sometimes, the world deserves to burn."
Soren snuggled closer to Lucid. "Lucid?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay?"
Lucid froze for a moment. "Why?"
"Because you've been wanting to spend so much time with me but it isn't just because I've gotta go back to the little room in a few days.... Is it?"
Lucid hung his head. "No Soren, it isn't."
"Something's wrong, isn't it? You've been coughing a lot of late."
Lucid looked at Soren, love in his eyes. "Don't worry about me. The world needs a bright spark like you around. Your such a kind boy, Soren."
Soren knew something was wrong but he didn't push it. He just cuddled close. "I love you like a dad."
"And I love you like a son." Lucid replied, coughing slightly.
