"Daddy!" Elizabeth laughed watching their four year old, Serenity, run up and hug Conrad's legs when he walked in the door.
"Hi, darling," Conrad smiled picking her up. "Where's your sister?"
"Upstairs," she said laying her head on his shoulder.
"Would you go get her, I have a surprise for everyone," Conrad smiled watching her eagerly nod.
Conrad walked over to Elizabeth who was sitting on the couch reading a book.
"What're you reading?" He asked as she put down the book.
"Some book Julia brought home," She smiled.
Conrad looked at the book seeing the title.
"The summer I turned pretty?" He read. "Is it good?"
"It's really good." Elizabeth nodded before standing up. "So, what's this surprise that you've kept secret for a month."
"I may have bought something," Conrad said making Elizabeth's eyes widen.
"What something?"
"Trust me, you'll love it," Conrad smiled.
The two turned their heads hearing footsteps come down the stairs.
"You have a surprise?" Julia who is now ten years old runs up to the parents.
"Yep, Everyone on the couch," Conrad ordered making the two girls pull Elizabeth down on the couch. "I have two surprises actually. The first one is. . . We're going on a trip!"
"Where?" Elizabeth asked smiling.
"That's a surprise," Conrad told the three. "And I can't tell you the second surprise till we get there. So, everyone pack, we leave Monday!"
"For how long?" Elizabeth asked while the two girls ran up the stairs.
"The whole summer?" Conrad smiled.
"What? Conrad we have jobs," Elizabeth shook her head.
"You are a designer," Conrad told her. "You work from home anyways. And the place we're going I'll be able to work also." Conrad shrugged.
"Doing what?"
"Working with boats," Conrad mumbled.
Elizabeth's brows furrowed before her eyes widened. Conrad smiled realizing she figured it out.
Elizabeth jumped up with a smile. "We're going to cousins?!"
Conrad nodded.
"Are you sure?" Elizabeth asked standing in front of him. "We haven't been back since. . " she trailed off.
